Tanks, Please Slow Down

Look, I get you want to get through dungeons as quickly as possible, but as a healer, who is still learning and wanting to get better, you running through several mobs and pulling everything doesn’t help, and ends up making the run longer because most, if not, all of us wipe and have to run back.

Just take literally 5 seconds to stop and wait for us to catch up occasionally. That’s all I ask. I can’t be the only one…

Yes, some tanks come with so much mobility compared to like a Holy Priest - hard to keep up. Well, when the tank dies they will learn to slow down, make it own their own, or grouse about the “bad healer”. Just lettem die. If they want to do group content like a solo player they deserve what they get.

Edit: or just follow the group along at your own pace. Let the tank carry the day. They might be successful…might not…without group support.

Why? You not being able to keep up is on you, you can ask them and maybe they’ll comply with it… but the only guaranteed way to actually change the pace, is to be the tank. You’ll learn with time and it won’t be an issue for you.

No it isn’t “on you”. Group effort - everyone working together, not slaves to an egomaniacal tank player.

That’s your OPINION on it, I think it’s 100% on him first and foremost… before you look for issues in others, you look within.

Literally every time I’ve asked them to slow down, they’ve either ignored me or told me to get better… which is what I’m TRYING to do.

You’ll get it in time dude, keep at it… a lot of people aren’t willing to bend for others.

Tanks SLOWW down
NO tanks speed up

I’ll do whatever I want, tanks

This is why WoW is failing. People expect perfection. People forgot how to have fun. WoW is not a job its a game. Ask yourself why treat others like trash? There is no point in bad dungeon behavior. New people are trying to learn. It doesn’t help anyone going 100,000,000 miles per hour pulling 100,000 dungeons at once. And expect perfection.

For the first time in the game’s history, there actually is a way to learn dungeons, and group mechanics on your own, without being subject to the whims of others, and without subjecting your “newness” to others.

This is exactly why follower dungeons exist. Use them, and when you’re confident in your role, then you can start playing with others and not feel like a hindrance or feel like you’re out of sorts with other players’ behavior.

“new players trying to learn”

The follower dungeons are good in some aspects, but the NPC don’t act completely like real players, so I can only learn so much from them.

I’m not asking for a lot. Just literally stop and wait a few seconds occasionally. That’s it.

No its not. Being a tank does not make them the boss of the group. A tank is a meat shield, to keep a mob’s attention on them while the dps destroy it. That’s what they were designed for, its where the work “tank” comes from: tough to destroy, loud and aggressive but a tank without backup infantry its a target dummy.

Its a group effort in which every player does their part but sadly some people think that being the tank makes them the boss.

the only way they’re gonna slow down is if blizz makes the difficulty such that tanks have no choice but to pull only small packs, and then everyone will cry that it takes too long

Same as the tanks who are pulling too slowly and have DPS pull for them on occasion, since they know better what the group can handle. So true, potato!

Same as I already said… that’s your opinion and I don’t agree, OP admitted he’s learning and he’s got a version of dungeons for that. He wants to learn like this, you gotta tolerate the tanks pace. People not being able to keep on pace, is on them.

I see you senor pine.

I’d love that, it would be such a nice change of pace.

There’s a difference between going quick and just being reckless.

I’ve literally had tanks attack a boss and move on the next trash mob when the boss is at 15-20% health. Like, why?

You’re 100% right and yea, lots of que tanks are reckless… most of them don’t want to be a tank, it’s just the fastest way to get a group, so they wing it. I’ve had tanks pull crazy amounts… it is what it is, I guess I’m just very indifferent about it and adaptable.

You also have some pretty bad gear. So either accept that people are going to rush through it or figure out healing in a bot run or whatever they’re called.

Long winded way to say “suck it up or get good”. Thanks. You’ve been SO helpful.
