Tanking isn’t fun anymore

I pugged from 2s to where I am now 1 key level at a time. I think it does.

Classic is low-key so much better than retail when it comes to any sort of player interaction.

Can’t even raid in retail with my gf without somebody crying to have her kicked.

Probably because of how much your personal reputation matters. You’re getting nowhere without help in classic, and you can’t rely on finding randoms from other servers to get you through.

Community is generally a product of necessity. Retail has largely removed that necessity.

As opposed to being able to handle 3-5 packs at a time but only if your group can also handle 3-5 packs at a time?

Idgi.

Considering only 3% have achieved TWW Season 1 Keystone Conqueror, 2% Keystone Master, and only 1% Keystone Hero, I would say you probably aren’t representative of the typical player. Hell, even my lame butt isn’t.

I know the season isn’t over yet, but it has a way to go. 30% achieved Dragonflight S1 KSM. That’s a 15x deficit they have to catch up to in just a few months.

I doubt you could say I’m above the average, and my time in keys has been mostly positive. One notable toxic interaction and that’s it.

Oh, and to be more relevant, I agree GB’s timer is lenient. (I don’t like GB, though.)

Do you agree that if you fail the timer your end of dungeon loot should be nerfed to uselessness?

I agree it shouldn’t reward the same as a successful run.

as it stands there’s zero reason to keep going if you are going to miss the timer and people leaving immediately is the biggest reason of frustration this season relative to other seasons.

You still get the vault slot, if you’re after it.

You can also still enjoy doing the dungeon, if you enjoy it in the first place.

Which let’s be honest, you are not enjoying if you’re going over the timer significantly enough to retard awards.

Sure I am. I just finished a Wake we didn’t time last night. I had fun. I even told the people in the group as much, because they were lamenting having bricked the key.

I could have left at any point.

Well the numbers speak for themselves. We can trade anecdotes all day long, but people leaving is a known issue, and progress is much slower than it ever was and the data supports that.

My biggest source of dissatisfaction when playing is when I do not feel like my time was well spent or respected. And when someone leaves mid-way through a dungeon, that is a huge aggravator to my enjoyment. I’m looking for ways to mitigate that behavior on a system level.

Beyond that, the times where I wish I left, but didn’t, I am rewarded with nothing meaningful except a repair bill. It’s just not a satisfying experience to get nothing for finishing a dungeon.

Back in Legion at least you got artifact power.

The solution is simple and requires virtually no effort on Blizzard’s end.

Stop taking the game so seriously.

that’s kind of a weak response, since we’re talking within the context of the game itself.

there has always been and always will be the choice to just not play. and if they continue down this path, that choice becomes more and more attractive.

also evident by the weird popularity of delves and follower dungeons

How is it a weak response? You’ve held the opinion in our interaction that bricked keys should always be left.

I support your right to make that decision (and thus do not support Blizzard trying to socially engineer people otherwise) but it IS ultimately your decision.

I mean of course there’s the principle of it all, but mostly this is just about practice. In practice, people leave. Per principle, they are justified because you are not incentivized to persist. In practice, it sucks for everyone.

and specifically, “don’t take it so seriously” is what I am identifying as a weak response. that can apply to anything and everything whenever there is discourse.

sure we can take it less seriously. then there’s nothing more to discuss and we should just stop posting on forums.

“Stop caring about the game. Everybody who isn’t top 1% in the game should completely stop caring about it. They should enjoy completing runs overtime and getting no useful rewards like I claim to.”

People who no longer care about the game will soon quit. I’m sure in your fantasy world the game will be more successful if only the top 2% of current players are still subscribing.

People do not always have the same goals in mind. If I join a 7 Siege, for example, you can more or less guarantee I’m not there for rating. I already have a timed 7 Siege, I’d want higher.

Can it?

Maybe if you disingenuously construe it, like Boomdoggle did.

In reality, it really is that simple. I care about the game, but I’m just playing it to have fun. If something isn’t fun, I won’t do it at all. I don’t do world quests, as a result.
