Tanking isn’t fun anymore

Exactly. Too many times people think if someone isn’t doing top tier end game their ability sucks and they don’t matter. But just because I just tank heroic 5 mans/non mythic raids, that does not take away from my ability or knowledge. The biggest difference than me and a mythic raider is the level we are playing at. But that doesn’t mean that raider has more of a voice than me. We just play the game differently. But crappy DPS treating tanks do not care about with AOTC achievement you have, what title you have, what iLvl you have. They are mean no matter what. And that is the biggest reason tanking is not fun anymore.

Honestly well to be fair there are a lot of mechanics that people just plain ignore at those level disparities. I mean wowhead is posting articles on Skarmorak abilities. Someone doing heroics and m+ are playing 2 different games.

Low difficulties are full of fights and strife. He judges without ever seeing the golden lands of milk and honey.

M+ is not fun for anyone, only for people who don’t play M+, and by the way, it’s from these people that Blizzard takes feedback

I’ve been tanking for years too and this season is difficult, but fun. Prot Pally feels awful, timers are tight in a few dungeons like Siege & Stonevault and it’s rare for DPS to use a GCD for a kick/interrupt/defensive on top of being terrible at mechanics (especially seasonal affix) or situational positioning, but they’ll blame the healer for dying to a mech they should have moved out of or the tank for not timing when they should have used interrupt instead of completing their damage rotation.

Not saying all tanks or healers are good and all dps are snobby whiners either… Just lots of expectations from each other, but yet it’s rare to get people to even say hi in a group. Kinda sets the stage for the run…

I’m doing m0’s and the tanks are dying 100-0 if they fail to use a defensive properly. It’s become a very punishing role tbh and then they made them rely on healers while also nerfing healers to death.

It’s a disgrace really what they’ve done to mythic+. I’m thinking of getting into raiding because of it

I’m willing to bet that it’s more that they are standing in frontals or swirl’s than not using defensive properly at M0 difficulty. Avoidable damage abilities always deal more damage than unavoidable ones.

More like tanking on BDK isn’t fun anymore lol. I will 200% endorse that.

You know how people have been saying “I dislike healing BDK, HP yo-yos too much” for like the past 6 years? Well now it’s overwhelming. To the point where you as the tank feel it, you’re like damn, my HP bro. The loss of control is palpable. Also Gorefiend’s Grasp needs to go baseline, it isn’t taken anymore.

I think the BDK tree needs to be reworked also. It’s super flat and redundant, reminds me of the Sin tree kinda, but Sin does actual damage. BDK has like 90 talents to increase Deathstrike damage and it hits for nothing still.

I would redesign Deathstrike into just having it heal you based on the damage it deals, not based on how much damage you took, that mechanic is dead and stupid now. Then just treat Deathstrike like a normal DPS ability.

This season is tough for tanking because of the poor balancing and scaling they’ve done. I hit 2k and stopped m+. I tried to go back and do a 7 and 8 for vault and it was miserable, nothing but edge lords complaining about the route and reminding you how easy +9s are and if you are dying in +8 then you are some how bad despite trash hitting for 10 million. Embarrassing behavior.

I made this almost same comment on WoWhead regarding the BDK tree needing a rework, there’s just too many useless talents that augment blood shield which are worthless because everything in any content that matters hits for several million making blood shield absolutely worthless.

There’s 3 to 4 talents that are effectively useless in non-trivial content and sanlayn is still useless.

Yup, it’s not great. I chose Sanlayn also and have defended it on here pointlessly. I just don’t feel like paying attention to or pressing Reaper’s Mark. I also really like the sound Vamp Strike makes.

I’m one of those people who will choose a Hero tree based on flavor instead of throughput. It is what it is. I have no problem leveling a Prot Warrior.

I don’t know how anyone can complain about NW when you have to pull the entire instance but they manage cuz that’s what happens. Nevermind the DPS not landing stitchflesh hook but still blaming tank LOL.

Blizzard really is trying to ruin mythic+. It’s about racing through a dungeon not trying to clear it of all the trash :joy:

They just have to change things for the sake of it.

Yeah NW has a weird mob count thing going on where you end up going way over count.

No exaggerating it’s maybe everything but 2 or 3 packs for % in NW, that’s how dumb it is.
