He’s not entirely wrong though. I’m not surprised to see that the only role that can’t take the heat of the changes between DF S3 and now is tanks though. Anything that reduces their dominance in a group setting is an affront, nay an attack on their very lives, because it’s the role that attracts the most drama queens for obvious reasons.
The top tanks in the world(Yoda, Equinox, Dorki, Quazi, etc.) Were giving a lot of feedback throughout the beta about how many tankbusters there were. This is not a skill issue when the top players in the world are also saying it. Some of these tankbusters were too frequent and/or strong.
I unironically agree with both of these statements. I’m glad that I get to heal the group now and not just the DPS. I’m glad that Pain Suppression isn’t just used to cover my own backside or save a DPS from themselves.
Tanks were spoiled heavily in DF and honestly they still are . It’s nice to get back to three roles actually mattering and not just saying “Well we all died at 40% guys it’s time to let the group demi-god take over and finish it.”
This certainly contributes to the overall difficulty of current M+ but that isn’t always bad and can easily be made up for by adjusting other roles if it’s absolutely required. Tanks do not need to be a node that all power flows through and are simply coping with no longer being that node imo.

Pretty much this. Defensively, we’re still the same as we were in DF (if not more so). We just don’t have the way to recuperate the lost health as easily/often as we did before and people are struggling with that.
I like how it is. I still have a kit and tricks up my sleeve if I need to survive a pack until X amount of time for whatever reason. Outside of perhaps last boss of Ara-Kara and CoT, I don’t have the ability to solo the last 40% of a boss any more though. And that’s a good thing.
They claim this…while pushing just as far as they had in prior S1s (even after the tank nerfs and reverts to how stops work). And with healers taking a bit of a nerf too in a sense.
I think the biggest offender is that some of the tank busters are both physical AND magical instead of one or the other. The tank busters that “are too often” are on smaller HP mobs and not like mini bosses (golems in GB for example)
