The thread is titled ‘tank threat issues’ not ‘i only want to play the game as deep prot talents please tell me how to make this work’

So you think it makes sense for a tank to have to spec as a DPS class in order to be successful?
feral tanks spec in balance
demo tanks spec into destruction
paladin tanks spec into retribution
this is all done for threat reasons, as 16 talent points is NOT making any kind of major difference to your mitigation, and your main challenge as a tank is always threat.
Mitigation comes from gear

Most tank builds go into other trees. Most DPS builds go into other trees. Thats how classic is.
You are not a Prot Warrior, you are a Tank Warrior.

This man is right. I main a prot Warrior in SoD with pre/bis gear and so I know this is fact. Prot Warriors (more so SoB) are having threat issues/rage starvation right now against “pumper” DPS.

Anyone nuking before your build sufficient threat deserves the ensuing faceroll. Let them embrace the joy of the GY run enough times; they’ll tone it down.

I am responding to YOU, do you see the quote marks? It means I do not believe in the “improvements”, it also means I do not believe the game design is a “problem”. I also said above that I exclusively play classic, I play it because I really enjoy it’s non-linear design.

Oh I’m sorry, you must be new to WoW. In WoW, anytime the Tank loses threat, it’s the Tank’s fault. Good luck getting into a group if people think you suck and can’t hold threat.

It’s only your fault if you are unable to coherently explain what the issue is.
Being a tank includes being a communicator.
If you can clearly see that someone is opening up before you even reach the mobs, you tell them to stop. If they keep going, you just tell them that every mob they rip off you in 1 second will not be tanked, they can enjoy it.
You make it fully clear that someone else is being disruptive, this is all assuming that you are actually playing your class correctly in the first place, of course.

I’ve not insinuated that you are a bad player or that you lacked knowledge of the game. Let’s be adults.
