Tank Threat Issues

I have added so many tanking tips throughout this thread. Legitimately foolproof methods to hold aggro in dungeons at any level. They are determined to fail. Tanking well in classic is challenging and SoD makes it even easier.

I tanked Deadmines, the highest level wat 18. I missed about 20-25% as is expected. I was always getting first hit as I know how to control my pulls and the druid and warlock would instantly pull off me with chaos bolt and star surge. Any other dumb questions?

So use your taunt and the target is dead in 3 seconds? Any other easy to solve complaints?

Agreed.

I tried warlock tank in bfd it was awful since I have no aoe threat at all.

Then I made a druid. It’s even worse.

Now I made a warrior, currently level 22. I assumed warr would be great. But it’s equally terrible. Aoe threat is tough and nobody lets me build up threat before blasting.

I’m never tanking again at 25. This is a terrible experience :joy:

You literally posted once and your advice was so basic that nobody paid attention because it was a borderline insult. Sit down.

Are you playing blindfolded. It is sooo easy to hold aggro that I cannot even comprehend how you would struggle.

Hence the basic advice.

Great, you’re a warrior. You zoned in and bloodraged and engaged the first mob. Your Warlock just crit with a Chaos Bolt. Outside of taunt, how do you hold threat on the 3-4 mobs you just pulled?

Thats why if the off tank is a warrior or paladin let them handle the trash. Not that big of an issue because trash dies so fast though.

It will get better in later phases.

Thunder Clap on CD, warrior and paladin have the best AoE threat at this level. L2P

Taunt that mob and then ignore it. It’s dead. You build threat on the healthy mobs and no one else takes damage? That’s it. It’s so easy.

Pretty much this, by the time the taunt wears off it should be dead, especially if the lock is criting with Chaos Bolt.

“L2P”

Invalidated.

If you are having AoE threat issues on a Warrior or Paladin the issue is between the keyboard and chair.

With what rage? Have you ever played a Warrior?

“WHAT DO I DO? SOMEONE HAS PULLED THREAT! I DON’T KNOW HOW TO HANDLE IT!”

“here is how you handle it : xxxxxxxx”

“OMG THIS ISN"T AN L2P ISSUE, BLOCKED, IGNORED, INVALIDATED”

Every post you make I am more convinced this is one big elaborate troll thread and we have been fully bamboozled

I’m not holding threat against hunter pets or rogues. Literally impossible unless they only attack the target I’m taunting…

A lot of retail players in sod who don’t want to be patient and let tank build threat on trash packs.

Bosses are no problem. But it’s exhausting running around wasting my rage on thunder clap playing ping pong with mobs against rogues and hunters.

Just not my cup of tea I guess. I feel like I’m such a peon as a tank in SoD. I want to be in charge when talking. Not desperately running around trying to cling on to my breadcrumbs of threat.

Welcome to my ignore.

Taunt doesn’t require rage. Taunt kill target, hit other baddies. Blood rage gives threat. T clap. Game over. Now save rage for the next pull. Got it?

Taunt, fine. Ok well you still have no rage. Try and Thunderclap, try and sunder, try and do anything with ZERO RAGE!!!

You just need 1 fight to have rage for every fight afterwards. Blood rage for first pull. It is so easy, i have to be getting trolled right now.

Well thats huntards for ya and most other DPS. It’s not your fault, if they die its on them.

If they complain tell them to focus the same target.

Taunt costs 0 rage, and on a 10 sec CD.

Thank you, I’m so honored to be placed on a Troll’s Ignore list!
