Nobody enjoys going to 60% dampening in 3v3 matches only to have a huge disadvantage against generally less skilled players who would never be in the same bracket as you if they played normal specs. Tank specs give 5000% more room for error. The fact that nothing has been done about this is absolutely DISGUSTING. Arena is not the place to make old men happy by letting them play tank specs

and maybe tanks shouldnt do as much dps as dps specs while having every button that has ever been pruned from a dps spec. If blizzard wants people to play arena things like prot pala and maledict needs to exit immediately

I get that tank specs want to pvp as well but there should literally be a -50% dmg in pvp hotfix for tank specs. I’m not opposed to the big support role but tank damage even with cds should be drastically lower than it is currently.
It makes no sense that they can do as much dps as top specs, half the healing of top healers and prevent any1 on team from dying until deep dampening (if played right).

Who is wanting to play tank specs? In my experience it’s people who aren’t competitive at a high level (think Swifty). I’m so sick and tired of them squandering all prestige and fair competition in arena and sadly it’s impossible to imagine them putting in the energy to balance tank specs on a patch by patch basis when they’re already barely doing that for other specs. Just make tank specs unplayable in arena pleaseeee
They removed the ability to queue as double healer because of the horrible game pacing that created. Tank specs create the same thing and always will. wow is not an FPS game and I can’t see them creating a whole new role for arena

I agree, tanks are extremely forgiving and easy to play in comparison to other roles when it comes to PvP. Good defensives, good support, and their damage as Sauce said is actually really good. I think if Blizzard really wants tanks to be viable, they’d need to make each of the specs like WoD’s gladiator stance where defensive abilities turn into offensives in turn making them play a DPS role rather than a support/disruption/dampening/3rd healer role.
But we all know that won’t happen, they can’t even give the actual DPS classes depth in PvP lol.

that doesn’t make them stronger than ww or mw. that is also only 1 tank of them all. that in no way makes tanks op, lol. how good do douple tank teams do in 3v3? they are so strong they should be unbeatable. double dps seems far stronger. dps > tank.

Yeah i noticed when i qued my alt rogue one day it was actually insane how many people play it at low ratings but at high ratings you don’t see it much.
Didn’t memphis play Prot to r1 last season as well?
Anyway, playing a tank spec in arena is simply cancer.

What an uneducated, sour, response. Tanks have never been as popular nor as good as they have been this last season and last expansion. There are plenty of tanks in the top ranks-- and plenty of tanks who are getting r1 for the first time as tanks and have failed at every other class and spec they’ve touched
