At the start of this season, people way below the recommended gear level are easily doing Tier 11 delves for rewards that are too good for the effort. I get that… It’s not a healer problem though, or a problem with Tank Bran. Blizzard just tuned the Delvs to be too easy.
After the Tank Bran nerfs;
-
DPS characters will still run Delvs that they are undergeared for.
-
Tank characters will still be able to BLOW through Delvs that they are WAY undergeared for. Tanks were the fastest, most powerful Delvers last season. They were the fastest, most powerful yesterday. They’ll be the fastest, most powerful tomorrow.
-
Healer ability to run Delves in a manner comparable to DPS characters is being DESTROYED.

Or maybe it’s being brought in line with dps and tanks.

Nope…
Running loads of Delvs as tank, dps, and heals of comparable gear, it is not. I can finish delvs on my tanks in half the time and with much greater ease then as DPS or Healer… Before these changes though, DPS and Healer were pretty comparable. I could however do Tier 11 Delvs on all 3 with 620’ish item levels. Blew threw an 11 on my Prot War at just over 610.

If you were running delves slower as dps or tank spec than people running heal spec/tank brann then you are an awful dps/tank lol.

Healers weren’t doing them faster or easier than tanks lol.
Its possible that some healing specs were over benefiting from the heal to buff aspect with frequently occuring hots, so I think that putting an internal cooldown on hots triggering that is fine. But increasing branns damage intake by 60% while also reducing his health will mean healers will no longer be able to complete 11s at a similar item level to tanks and dps.

The most you could say re: gearing through Delves as a healer is that higher tier Delves are more accessible to healers at a lower ilvl than comparable runs as DPS.
As far as actually clearing high level Delves and the Delve boss challenge, Tank Brann isn’t even the best way to clear them – just the most accessible and laid back, which…who, y’know, gives a damn?
Some people (Blizzard included) seem to be pretty invested in hating the concept of accessible yet rewarding casual content. Honestly, nerfing the experience for healers does nothing but make Delves less fun for them, which is a strange goal for content that’s really not that serious.
From what I played, you needed to heal Tank Brann while he cleared the Delve at a similar pace to my DPS. Blizzard even complained that healers were healing too much. It was a fairly standard Delve experience that was, finally, accessible to a neglected role in solo content. Taking that away is a bizarre decision, especially over fixing his AI in the many ways that it currently renders non-DPS roles unplayable in the Underpin fight.
Who actually benefits from this? As a DPS player, I don’t actually care if healers get to clear similar tiers at lower ilvls. This is also true of optimal DPS classes compared to mine. I got my talent tree and tips for beating Zekvir ?? as a frost mage from a video of a mage geared thirty ilvls below mine. I cleared my first T11 6 ilvls lower on my Survival hunter than on my mage.
It just, straight up, doesn’t matter. This isn’t the kind of content that needs to be excessively monitored to achieve perfect balance. This is the fun-nerfing reworks of Overwatch heroes applied to WoW, reflective of the same design philosophy that earns Blizzard’s games a terrible reputation.

Not a chance. I attempted a couple healer delves on some alts this week…and in every case changed to DPS spec because healer delves are SO SLOW PLEASE MAKE THE PAIN STOP.

Mistweaver monk could 100% outpace tanks and DPS by a mile.
Brann didn’t need much babysitting aside from the occasional heal CD to deal with how stupid his AI is for standing in everything.
With Mistweaver’s personal DPS and plethora of HoTs and small heals that gets thrown out, Tank Brann actually was ridiculously overpowered for a Mistweaver in tier 11 delves.
Other healers not so much.
Yeah this seems problematic. He already takes large damage spikes from things you (the player) can’t control. This might make him legitimately one-shottable.
Maybe this isn’t an issue for priests, for example, that can shield him, but on my resto druid, my damage-preventing abilities are limited, and don’t scale with gear.
Also I fear that some of these nerfs in general are just too large. But delving with tank brann and the pingable augment chip was definitely too good to be true.

Yep. Huge knee-jerk reaction that they will end up walking back at least partially.

Yeah they have never done anything to make dps Brann useful. Now that they killed tank Brann I doubt they will go back and look at it again since I assume that was the intention.
They might as well just remove anything other than Healer Brann and just work on balancing that correctly since apparently anything else is too hard for them.

Healers finally had something good for once, and it lasted a week.
Tank Brann got me playing a healer for the first time since wrath. Now I don’t really want to bother anymore.
Oh well, everything still comes pretty easy to the hunter.

My experience as well.
Sure I do far less damage, but I can pull so big and fast and not worry about dying on a toon 30 iLs below my main.

I guess we just had too many people starting to play healer. Something had to be done!

There will always be problems with things like this in WoW because people like to play their spec of choice. The Brann thing was supposed to allow people to play healers and DPS easier I guess? And it did make it easier but playing yoyo with when Brann dies and making the decision to revive him or kite and stall was a big part of the strat. At least as a Frost Mage.
I don’t know what Blizzard expected here. Obviously I would take the tank over a second DPS or healer because 1) I wear cloth and 2) I’m a caster and staying away from mobs is always good. So on tier 11 bosses I would guess I’m going to run into a wall where last week I was able to kill them. This is some kind of horrific change.
