I need a Pooh Bear MOG for my druid tank. I feel like a piñata. I switched him to heals
This is a good example for this balance argument where people say tanks are pretty even .
Warriors were still clearing the same content as everyone else before the GCD changes were made. They performed equally on damage and completed content, but does that make them viable and balanced.
Just because the content can be completed on a class/spec does not mean everything is hunky dory.
You’re a liar.
Go look at the actual numbers.
Most popular Mythic raid tank in Antorus: Death Knight
Most popular Mythic raid tank in HFC: Death Knight
Most popular Mythic raid tank in Blackrock Foundry: Monk
Most popular Mythic raid tank in Highmaul: Monk
The numbers are all there over at Warcraft Logs. Every single parse going all the way back to the start of WoD.
People need to stop lying in these threads.
They got world first for tov, tos, and antorus. And if guardian druids weren’t the best in tos and antorus, why would they use one? We aren’t talking about the most popular tanks, we are talking about the best tanks and method wouldn’t have used a sub par tank to get there world firsts.
Popularity and power are not the same thing mate. Guardian druid is by far one of the most boring tank specs to play due to the nature of their kit. That does not mean they are bad tanks. Through most of legion, I’ve seen guardian druids completely break fights with their basic abilities. From ignoring the extra action button and solo tanking guldan, to taking all 4 hits of Aggramars combo, the amount of survability they had was absolutely nutty.
Tanks, even a bit more so than healers, should always be relatively balanced. It’s just pure laziness on Blizzard’s end to ignore the plights of Druid and DH tanks. The evidence is in how many times I’ve queued up for TW, Heroic dungeons, & LFR, and received COA. I’ve received 20k gold and upgraded all heirlooms up to 110 (most of them were at the 100 ilvl already, but that was from past COA TW dungeons completed since Legion!). That’s just sad.
If tanks are one of 2 most underrepresented roles in the game, why not balance the few that there actually are. How difficult is it to spend a few months testing what buffs to some of the underperforming specs would do to the game overall, or nerfs to those who can nearly cheese their way through content meant to be challenging.
I have this crazy and insane notion that Blizzard actually wants players to quit so they can slow down development…
Also every decent guild wanted to gear up double blood DK for mythic aggramar because gorefiendss grasp is a balancing nightmare.
I’m still happy with this vengeance DK, and haven’t done mythics yet, I have no issue in the latest LFR, and such.
Except right now of the top 100 mythic+ keys ran over 70% have been prot warriors this season. The highest keys being done are mostly prot. Blood DK still has a high % of overall representation but the gap is closing surprisingly quick. Consider the fact that in S1 the top 100 keys were dominated by blood dk and this has now swapped to prot warrior.
Yes I see you are looking at statistics for every fight and how many parses each tank has. Many progression guilds will continue to use brewmasters because of how well they handle incoming damage unless they bury them into the ground. That won’t happen unless there are major changes to how they handle incoming damage. So in other words expect nothing to change until next expansion at the earliest.
As for blood dk they already had the highest representation coming out of the first tier. They would have to destroy the spec to get more people to switch off them. People also seem to forget world first was done by a prot warrior and brewmaster monk.
At this point its hard to argue guardian and vengeance cant use some help. Even then unless they buff them to god mode don’t expect everyone to reroll halfway into the expansion.
No tank is as good as they were in Legion. Prot paladins are nowhere near as enjoyable as last expansion. Personally it feels like prot paladins are missing a cooldown and the recharge on sotr takes to long. They are far to vulnerable while sotr is down. They should have got a replacement for losing the artifact. If they don’t plan on giving prot paladins a cd back then I think a second charge of hand/light of the protector should be added back along with reducing the cd.
You conveniently ignored Emerald nightmare, Nighthold, Trial of Valor and Tomb last expansion. The only raid blood dk had dominance was Antorus. Guardian druids dominated 4 out of 5 raids in Legion if you are just looking at numbers.
I didn’t ignore them at all, I already SAID that Druids were the most popular tank in those raids, in post #49. Read the damn thread.
Ok then why go out of your way to make a point that death knights were the most popular tank in a single raid last expansion when guardian had dominance in 4 out of 5 raids. And no I’m not going to go through the entire thread to find every post by you. But since you decided to call it out I’ll go quote you now.

False. Bears were top in Nighthold but were only marginally outnumbering Warriors in Mythic EN and Death Knights in Mythic Tomb. Death Knights were massively ahead in Mythic Antorus, which was the 2nd half of the expansion.
Oh wait so you are saying false in the post you pointed me to. The poster you quoted was correct. Guardian druids had by far the most dominance overall last expansion in raids. Emerald nightmare saw high prot warrior representation at the start until they nerfed them into the ground. To be fair they were completely broken. Even then with them starting out completely broken guardian still saw higher representation.
I said in the post you quoted, Antorus was the entire 2nd half of the expansion.
If you want context: Read. The. Thread.
So if what you like to do is work really hard to get the same content done, why are you playing any tank but druid?
You can make up as many excuses as you want. Just because a single raid was out for so long does not also make you correct when guardian dominated 4 out of 5 raid tiers. Even then the combined time of EN->Antorus release is still > Antorus->BFA. Your not going to change my mind or the mind of the poster you quoted before. And to be honest a lot of people stopped raiding or caring about Antorus raid after a few months calling it quits until the next expansion.
I really don’t care if you change your mind or not, since you don’t even care to read the thread before waltzing in and shooting your ignorant mouth off about a conversation you don’t even understand.
They are adding on use abilities to the new Azerite neck talent tree so that might help some classes like guardian druid.
Now you are just being rude calling me names. I just got done quoting your own post that you pointed me out to. You clearly corrected another poster who said guardian druids dominated legion by saying false. You were corrected when I said guardian druids dominated 4 out of 5 raids last expansion.
Most people on the forums arent the best players monkaS
I keep repeating this in many different threads because it’s true.
How you feel about how things, whatever those things may be, are going in BfA is all dependent on your level of consumption of said content.
If you tank less than 10s as Bear and only tank less than 10s as Bear, then you don’t understand why the Bears pushing higher are complaining. If you are running low teens as Bear, you get kind of a glimmer, but again you probably think it’s fine. When you push into higher keys, you do anything you can to shore up the issues. Hence groups like the one Lipkiss has. Solid comp that supports him across the board because he can’t fill certain requirements like other tanks can.
As far as not getting groups… You cannot tell me if you wanted to complete a key, NO MATTER WHAT LEVEL, and had a choice of any of the 6 tanks you would take Bear first, second, third or fourth over any other option. If you did it would be because you had a need for Bres and couldn’t find a BDK or all the other options were somehow worse, like from a server you can’t stand or hilariously lower item level.
If you can’t stand Bear, think Bear deserves what it’s getting, thinks having one class suck because they’ve had it so good in the past, are unable to disassociate your personal feels from the debate, then your opinion really doesn’t matter as your axe to grind has no place in this debate.
The only person who gets a pass for being excused are those who don’t understand why someone wouldn’t want to just swap to another class that is FotM better. I get it that is how a lot of the newer players think because of how WoW has drifted away from being a MMORPG over the years, but trust me, identifying so strongly with a certain class/spec/toon is not an unusual thing for what this genre is supposed to be.
And finally, being viable =/= being good. You CAN run a race with no shoes on. But you’ll get smoked by the guy in track shoes. Especially if it’s cross country over extremely rough terrain.
Here’s the definition for you…
vi·a·ble
/ˈvīəb(ə)l/
adjective:
- capable of working successfully; feasible
Here is the definition of what you seem to confuse in its place…
good
/ɡo͝od/
adjective:
1. to be desired or approved of.
2. having the qualities required for a particular role.
Compare those 2 and tell me what Bear’s adjective is.
