Taking launch day off?

Nope. In fact, I probably won’t even be able to play the new expac until the Weds after launch. Which is all well and good to me, it will be slightly less crowded while questing.

Good for you. He wasn’t asking for your moral judgement. People should enjoy their lives however they please. I don’t find that sad at all. What I do find sad is your attitude and judgement. Can a man not have a day off to enjoy himself? Jesus christ.

Im just staking up my days off for december , might take the month off(paid)

So no days off for release  but plenty for Season 1

Not even worth it. I dont know where you live but for me on the east coast tje game releases at 6pm. Not much point in taking tje day off i will be home from work by then. I am taking wed off though.

I’ve had a smooth launch every single expansion except for WoD. Even then I was able to play as long as I didn’t log out.

Had zero issues in Wrath, MoP, Cataclysm, Legion, Battle for Azeroth, all went smooth as butter for me.

Don’t listen to the doom and gloom. There will probably be lag spikes, but it won’t be the end of times as some people are spelling out.

Luckily I was scheduled off Tues and Wed. I have to work over holiday by myself. So win win. Laptop will be taken to work.

A character with name already exists.

Shadowlands is their highest selling expansion pre-sales in history. It doesn’t matter what you think.

Crap it is this game had 12 mill players once lucky to have 1.5 atm. Keep dreaming Ion.

I took the week off. Then they moved the date.

I agree to what others have said: don’t listen to the doom and gloom.

I haven’t experienced a launch since Wrath and am excited to do so this go-around.

There is so much energy with more players in the zones for the first few days that can’t be replicated easily. There is lots of fun to be had in the race to level 60.

with all the phasing, sharding and lack of overall players now things have been much more stable than in the past.

sometimes the world deserves to be pushed around in the name of fun

My boss also plays and told me “you can’t miss launch, leave early that day” didn’t even have to request it off xD

Well, considering Blizzard’s servers are incapable of handling the boring ICC rare spawns now, when only about 150 people are standing around, I don’t think there is any hope of a smooth launch when they have funneled EVERYONE into the EXACT SAME LINEAR PATH to level in this new expansion.

At least in other expansions you had room to spread out. Not in SL! We’ll all be friggin’ on top of each other for the first few weeks.

So, what to expect?

  1. lag
  2. disconnects
  3. a waste of a vacation day

Have you played the prepatch event at all? Its a constant lag fest, and has been for 9-10 days now.

Nope, I’m a temp so no leave time. Plus, it’ll be less crowded in the afternoon after work.

My husband and I will have snacks and adult beverages for launch evening. If there are long queues or disconnects - we’ll be buzzed and full of snacks, so it will ease the pain

I’m not doing it. I have to work Monday, and will be making food/hanging out with BF when it does launch. And launch days I’ve found have a lot of server crashes due to people swarming. And when you do get in, the areas are so crowded it’s hard to get things done.

Maybe I’m just a grumpy old lady, but count me out for launch day. Y’all have fun, I’ll play Tuesday when it’s hopefully less crashy. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

This.

Don’t take day of launch off work; you know how many people have that same. exact. idea? Literally everyone.

I’d just wait like couple days before starting on the Shadowlands journey. Not only should (most of) the server stability issues be resolved, but you’d have less competition for any of the starting kill quests.
