Taking bets on when "Dungeons are Hard" post is reposted

The season 4 dungeon tuning notes are out and they are making Heriocs more difficult. This just got me thinking who asked for this, and how soon will they re post the original Dungeons are hard post. I mean its fitting that they are doing this when Cata classic is launching. Seems like they never learn.

For context https://www.wowhead.com/news/ghostcrawler-dungeons-are-hard-179780

I bet two weeks from release.

I look forward to repeatedly saying “Skill issue” and “L2P”. Been enjoying that in the Plunderstorm forum.

It’s not about who asked or who didn’t ask for it, I think the bigger picture is it’s too easy for people on all levels of game play, and that’s not good for PVE. Especially in a MMO like wow.

For example, Heroic and normal shouldn’t feel the same, but right now they do. (dungeons)

They nerfed so many things in the dungeons and flat out removed a few of the problematic abilities

If its not the absolute easiest season of the xpac, Ill be surprised

The big problem with cata and a problem I see now is “Change”. People do not like change, and this is a pretty big change.

People enjoyed zerging from boss to boss in 3.3 and suddenly that wasn’t possible in 4.0 This upset a lot of people. This is going to do a similar thing, but hopefully the change is not too drastic (I know m0 are not exactly difficult right now).

But more importantly, I just wanted highlight the similarities between Cata launch and the Cata classic launch i.e. we are going to have harder heroics in retail. That is just a bit funny to me

As someone who enjoyed the Cata launch dungeons, there will be quite the differences between the s4 DF normals and well, those

The only difference between normal and heroic will be numbers, as they said all the mythic mechanics won’t be brought over for heroic, so itll just be slightly harder normals

Where as those beautiful monstrosities of Cata dungeons, every mob had 3 spells that if a single one went off the entire party died (HoO with the big fellas, let a pyroblast go off and your tank is so dead they have a heart attack IRL as well)

a lot of the dungeons themselves are being nerfed quite a bit, my guess is that theyre trying to make comps less specific and reliant on things like MD (which has already been turbo nerfed) and aoe stops

the s1 pool of df dungeons was at the very least manageable, and now we have no seasonal + nerfed affixes, so i anticipate a pretty easy season.

There’s no shortage of difficulty in keys as they scale forever.

Plenty of people who wanted heroics to be useful for gearing and not so faceroll they can be soloed, ruining the dungeon experience.

Yes they wanted m0 to be Queue able, this is not it. This is just moving the difficulty around. Nothing specifically changes for the player who’s endgame was queue able heroic dungeon except for now its more difficult.

inb4 why do I care, as I clearly dabble into m+. As I said its just funny to me to observer the parallels between the original cata launch (I was there 84 years ago) and the cata classic launch.

Lots of people have been talking about the disparity between dungeon difficulties and that something needs to be done. This is the first test to see if this works.

Yea man heroic s4 will give you m0 rewards

What’s actually not good for PvE is making content people play for fun harder in an attempt to force them go work the game as hard as you think they ought to.

You can’t make people git gud.

Probably a focus group of elitists Blizzard put together on how to fix the “casual problem”.

I bet 1h ago, according to the forum timestamp.

Well. Heroic dungeons in cata were the highest dungeon mode, today we have M0 and then a ton of M+ levels, so probably don’t expect heroic dungeons to be that hard. They will be as hard as M0s are this season apparently but the thing is, M0s are extremely easy. M+11 right now are twice as hard as an M0 right now and those are still pretty easy for the average player who gets into M+.

Remember you will also be doing that with 476 ilvl gear (drops from heroic dungeons) or higher depending on what else drops

You actually indeed can make people better at the game by slowly raising the game’s difficulty. Overtime, you start to not notice how difficult something was (that’s your skill getting better) Furthermore, this notion that they are raising the difficulties to skyrocketing levels is just ridiculous.

this.

There’s going to be complaining about difficulty across the board with dungeons, in all difficulties.

People forget that this season is peanuts difficulty wise. These dragonflight dungeons have some real teeth to them, especially ones like Ruby Life Pools and Uldaman. Calling it now but some people are gonna be caught off guard by the difficulty difference between this season’s pool and next season’s.

There ain’t no freebie keys like AD and BRH.

Sorry, people aren’t that stupid. Heroic dungeons are currently extremely popular. Removing that difficulty and making them harder isn’t going to work nearly as well as you think it should be to trick them into gitting gud. Just because you find current heroic difficulty to be trivially easy doesn’t mean people who like it are going to be fooled by your manipulative efforts to make them git gud.

A relative handful of people have asked for this. We will see if the large number of people who queue for heroic dungeons are going to continue to queue after you make it much harder, and them lecture them to git gud because it is really easy for people who push keys.

Dividing up difficulties of low keys into many more segments will result in the current ghost town of hardly any low keys being turned into a ghostland.

In ALL of those threads about wanting no timers and wanting more difficult dungeons, the absolutely #1 idea was that we need to go back to the good ole days when everybody would sit down at the start of a dungeon together an plot out a strategy. This shows that people have unrealistic ideas based on doing a dungeon no more than a few times in the past. They aren’t going to get into endlessly spamming dungeons, because these changes aren’t going to give them the social experience they remember and wish would come back.

The “people” this is targeting are players who don’t do keys. So they aren’t forgetting anything.
