Put it this way. It’s confirmed up there with this comment,
Skyriding will be available from the start in Khaz Algar and players will be able to unlock steady flight at maximum level by exploring the zones of The War Within and completing the campaign.
At most, alright, at most if it’s not just the standard leveling campaign, someone will have to wait two resets likely if the campaign extends beyond max level and we’re talking about people also having to do some max level quests (think Dragonscale Expedition). At most, it’ll be a week or two.
But I’m imagining eight to ten hours.

Thats cool, im one of those people that like different things. I like that they’re giving us faster flying first.
Even with it being better than any of the previous pathfinder unlocks, it’s still a loss of QoL.
At its basest level it would have taken less effort to not make an arbitrary lock on this. They went out of their way to make it a worse experience.

But it took over a year to finally allow normal flying in DF…which will be the same with the War Within I bet…I really really regret purchasing War Within early now…I guess Blizzard doesn’t care about disabled folks now.

and…cant one just have an old flying mount AND a DR/skyriding mount both ready so they can just swap back and forth without the casting / changing part?
Seems like we could just use a mount that doesnt allow Skyriding for old flight and and save a few seconds

Actually, and this isn’t me being rude, but this is false. It’s a complete gain. Because even in DF, people had to wait over a year to get normal flight. This is the first expansion since pathfinder was first introduced that people will be able to easily earn static flight within the first month.
Nah, this is an outright QoL gain. In every situation, this is a net positive for the community preferring static flight. Which is fine, their call. It’s a net gain though.
yeah, its clearly a pointless restriction that almost feels intentionally spiteful.
IF you can get it in 10 hours, lets say, then WHAT is the POINT of not just allowing it from the start?
Really feels like Ion just cant let his hatred of flight go more than any real need here.

Oh, thank goodness we can pick which flight style we want for each mount.
Lag and sky riding mix very badly.

I don’t know how many other ways to phrase this, but the limit doesn’t make sense at all. Dynamic flight is superior for travel, for exploration, and for expediency. Steady flight as niche applications compared dynamic flight. They don’t HAVE to limit it, but do so anyways. It isn’t a gain if someone put you in a cage, only to let you out into a bigger cage.

I don’t think we can, no. They stated it in the article. Any flying mount that isn’t DR capable will be permanently grounded.
Edit: ^while dynamic flying is activated.
Would you rather wait the year? Can’t we just be happy the people who prefer static flight are getting it in record time?

We’d rather not be artificially locked from doing something we could already do at all. That’s the point. The entire point.

Which has been the crux of pathfinder from its implementation however many years ago. Again, it is an entire net gain that you can unlock it within 8 hours to a week or two (depending on what ‘the campaign’ entails) vs. having to wait the usual year+ in order to get static flight. It’s a literal victory.
do you people READ in here or just ramble on incoherently?
go back and READ my posts…then respond again…the answer to that is pretty clear.

No, that is how it works currently but is specifically not allowed in TWW. Mounts that are steady flight only will be grounded while you have dynamic flight mode on.

I was making a point. I fully understand what you’re stating. I’m highlighting however, as I said above, that the current situation is infinitely better than any previous situation since pathfinder has been implemented. It is a net gain in every single manner. The static flight crowd has lost nothing in this exchange. They have gained an immense amount of time back that under normal circumstances, they would not have had.
its easy for that poster to talk the talk…but if HE were affected rest assured he’d be whining too, lol

It’s not a net gain, we are still less than where we started, steady flight was the default.

You can’t pick on an individual basis in TWW. (Unless you were being sarcastic.)
They are trying to keep a conversation going without reading/acknowledging any of the points that are brought up, and rather keeps rattling the same thing on and on. Another block i guess.
