Possibly but they have changed requirements and lengths before so we shall see on that too.

They shouldn’t.
Dragonriding gives you more speed at the cost of requiring you to actually rub two brain cells together.
Old flying is slower but let’s you braindead autorun.
Balanced.
Blizzard guys , buddies , bros — ok ladies , women, professional people—
Why can’t you just let go of gating flight with ANYTHING (except maybe level)?
Seriously. Let it go. So stupid— reading your sky riding article is like “ok cool … nice this is great” then you screw the vibe with steady flight will be unlocked after …
Wait—what?
Smh
They cant let it go fellow players they just can’t let it go.
Well they’re not gating flight anymore, they’re gating sky-swimming, preventing early economic advantages by lazy farming druids.
Actually good point and I’ll be honest I didn’t even think of druids (I don’t really play them so I really don’t think of druids lol)
They slowed down DR aka dynamic flying aka skyriding and boosted the speed of TBC normal flying in TWW alpha/beta.
Let the gnashing of teeth commence.
Add another voice to the discontent here.
I like being able to choose old vs DF flying moment by moment, because my desire for speed vs control changes moment by moment.
Making me stop and do a 5s cast every time I want to change may actually just make me avoid dragonriding altogether - which would suck, because I really do love dragonriding.
I actually rather like the system as it is now. Stop, change mounts, fly as the mount allows.
Rise…rise y’all we stick together and support TBC normal flying and we all prosper.
Not interested in everyone prospering. Eat the poor
Eat the richies!
I bet this us upvoted far more!
if it has to be unlocked again that’s going to anger a fair few people, you’d think Blizz would realize to stop doing that but I guess that’s asking too much.
They already announced that it must be unlocked, with “skyriding” being available right away.
BlizZard is heavily driven by data metrics.
The data says that DR aka dynamic flying aka skyriding aka whatever they call it in a few months isn’t as popular as people claim.
That is why they are arm twisting people to use DR.
It is a simple as that.
If you have to force someone to do something then it is not popular. Period.
Thats a flawed logic.
No one is arm twisting anyone into doing anything. If skyriding was not anpopular implementation, they would have not spend the resources making sure most flying mounts worked with it.
It would have been just dropped with DF.
If you are forcing disabled players to use DR aka dynamic flying aka skyriding then it is arm twisting.
There is no nice way to put it.
No one is being forced though? There are no forced flight sections in the open world, you can play grounded, you can also unlock tbc flying quickly after dinging 80 on your first character.
Flight form was given a cast time like other dragon riding mounts at the start of beta. They have now made it instant again, which feels a lot better. You can now save yourself from falling like before.
It seems like it’s a simple quest chain so no biggie. We get it early regardless. I highly doubt they are going to change much right before an expac release nor do they need to on this one.
The disabled community are still not representative of the majority of the community. They are still only a small sub section of the community. Please stop trying to make them out to be like way over 50% of WoW players when they are not. And even within that sub section of players, a fair share are able just fine to do Skyriding. So stop pretending you have this massive grouping of people whom are incapable of flying in this game without TBC flight.
The fact a person may like TBC over Skyriding is not a disability, its a personal choice, and just like in real life or in video games, when it comes to making choices to not do something, comes consequences. Such as you may take longer to accomplish things that other are doing much quicker.
Another thing you love to keep going on about is like the reduced speed of skyriding, this is not new or even news, they did this the second they choose to take dragon riding off of the dragon isle and put it every where else in the game, they reduced the speed and even told everyone why they was doing it. You know what, no one cares. Its a none issue. You acting like its a game breaking issue is beyond me when it comes to it in TWW. The increase of speed of TBC flight, again who cares outside of maybe those who keep saying that any speed beyond the original speed of TBC flight makes them sick this whole time as an excuse to why they can not use Dragonriding for the past 2 years. They might now say they also can not use TBC anymore because it too is now too fast, but really you can not tell the difference in the speed of flight change in either one of the flight styles. So again not a big deal and sure is not a game breaker.
Changing the name of dragonriding to what ever Blizzard wants it, who cares again you make such a over dramatic deal over it. Who really gives a whoot what they call it, or how many times they change the name of it. They have changed names of spells and attacks in this game many times in the past. Its doesn’t matter.
What level will characters have to be to use Skyriding? Currently it only unlocks at level 60.
