I think it would be awesome if the follower dungeons scaled.
Yup, even up to mythic +20.
But…with no rewards. Simply, you can practice all you want. Testing pulls, testing mob abilities, seeing how hard bosses hit etc all at your own pace. But with no loot at the end.
We’re both kinda dancing around the other goal of this feature though, that being that it’s supposed to be a learning tool as well. Story aside, there’s value in being able to experience these dungeons in this environment. The same criticism has kinda been around ever since Blizz started bring older dungeons back for the seasonal M+ rotations. Players have no option for learning those dungeons other than stepping right into the fire with a key, since their lower difficulties are still locked in whatever expansion they came from. Similar to those, this feature’s value as a ‘learning tool’ is diminished by every dungeon that’s going to be omitted from it.
I understand what you’re saying, but I disagree. There are guilds and friends and communities and WoW Made Easy and other Discords. I don’t feel that a megadungeon should be relegated to Normal. But that’s just me. I do see your perspective.
With the Combination of Battlegroups and then expanding it beyond that. People weren’t held accountable for their actions anymore. If you were being Toxic on a consistent basis your Server would find out quite quickly. And even then the battle group was small enough to help alleviate that problem. Now, It’s opened up so broadly that there isn’t any true consequences for peoples actions.
No, it never felt like we were forced to talk to people. We enjoyed talking the people we were grouped up with and enjoyed laughing and crying about our failures and our victories.
For all the reasons mentioned here and more, I am excited for this feature to come around. I have always enjoyed exploring every nook and cranny of a dungeon to see what is in there that some miss.
I still am working on getting Stolen Breath of Ohn’ahra and it makes it easier and faster to re-queue in a dungeon with just AI followers.
The article says: “Whether you want to experience the dungeon for the first time as a solo player or you want to have a friend or two join you to learn the mechanics and boss fights”
What about if we want to level and gear alts?
This was my primary interest in the gameplay mode, is this an intended use of the feature or will the xp/hr be low because of non-skippable overheads on repeat dungeons that make it suboptimal for that?
Poor attempt. Heroic and Mythic are absolutely considered max level end game content. Always has been. Your opinion on how difficult it is or how people play it is irrelevant.
Traditionally much of wows story has been gated into raid (and especially mythic raid only) encounters. I have been going back and doing transmog runs of earlier tiers I never did and forgot they used to do that.
I am hopeful this feature gets as expanded on and implemented at all tiers. Much like flex raiding became the mainstay mode for everything bar mythic.
Omg I can’t wait wooooooooooooooooo! Seriously this AI is good enough to pull 2/3 packs and survive and feels pretty much about the same as a normal dungeon group in RDF. No zerging, take your time, maybe go fishing while they sit there staring at you awkwardly an finish the dungeon after your dinner is cooked.
Add me to the camp that hopes this feature eventually branches out to encompasses heroic an M0. To look at this feature as simply a story mode and not as a learning tool or even possibly a challenge mode that has increased difficulty and rewards the higher you push is narrow minded thinking at best.
