I’m making Imbued Robes. Cost of material is insane. 7 attempts. skill is 372. 5 robes didn’t give skill up. I’m also transmute master. about 10 transmutes and ZERO proc’s. I don’t remember crafting being that bad back in a days. It’s when creators of retail failure are tweaking classics. With pattern being yellow I will expect 5 skills for 7 robes made…
RNGeesus says “hi”.
lol I was stuck at 369 engineer for awhile, actually spent a ton of gold getting to 370 then I had to spend even more for 370-375 while dealing with RNG.
It’s painful for almost all professions
you’ll get there eventually. my alchemy is stuck at 373 and all I have are green potions/transmutes. life’s hard sometimes.
Offer your services in trade and offer 10g to people who level up your skill. People get their crafts for free with the chance at some gold and you get to level up your skill.
Imaging BS 360-375 cost me 4000g
Arcanoweave Robe and boots are best for leveling end levels but you need dungeon recipes
I was able to hit 375. It took 10 robes to make. So pretty much every other gives skill up.
Tunics are better than Robes for skillups, and cost the exact same in mats. It only took me 6 Tunics to go from 370-375.
One of the Arcanoweave pieces helped me lvl tailoring. It doesn’t require netherweb spider silk for one. Also, it uses slightly more arcane dust up front but less overall netherweave cloth.
Also, if you’re going to craft one of the pieces from a tailoring specialty (spellfire etc), a couple of them can be crafted before 375 and might give you points. In other words, you may as well craft something you’re actually going to use and perhaps get a point out of it.
The amount of cloth is staggering but professions aren’t meant to be leveled to max in a day by a single person. I leveled my tailoring from 365-374 with only 2 failing to skill up then used my shadoweave boots to hit 375. However from disenchanting the robes i made, i got 2 void crystals, so no biggy. Keep up the hard work and try to mooch cloth off your friends.
Rng sucks lol a buddy in my guild leveled his cooking from 368-375 with a feast that was green and he got a skill off of each one he made… rng saved him HUGE amounts of gold
Yeah unfortunately you’re just getting bad rng there bud. I got 360-375 tailoring by crafting 18 or so imbued netherweave tunics. Just keep farming and zug that tailoring to 375, gl!
Thankfully you can farm netherweave like it’s going out of style.
Spam Mechanar for the Arcanoweave boots pattern my dude. Only costs netherweave bolts and rune thread. Takes you from 350 to 375
Xmutes are ~15% chance to proc with futher RNG on the amount of extras.
As for the best ways to get those last 5 points you should look up some profession guides on WoWhead or WoWProfessions.
Generally speaking offering your services to craft professions items, ie Tailor Looking For Work (LFW), is the fastest way to get those last few points.
Also enchanters do this alot and give out free enchants to people while leveling since you cant sell the enchants on the AH until Wrath with enchanted Velium. Why keep enchanting a grey/white item for skill ups when you can brighten up someone’s day buy giving them a free enchant. (The more expensive enchants to make you should be doing LFW in trade or WTS X enchant your mats).
Leveling professions in old school WoW was notoriously painful and expensive because the yellow/green recipes failing to grant skill was so penalizing. Working as intended (for better or worse).
I did this but the cost of cloth is down, so you would probably have to check the AH first. The aw robes I believe are orange until 375, so they would be a great find.
Also, great advice on doing sw/sf/mc set pieces while they’re still orange and a skill pt can be gained.
Mostly, op had bad luck. Happens.
