Nobody cares when or how someone got the tabard.
The “meaning” behind the item is created completely by you: it’s your favorite, you got it a long time ago, you got it from a friend, etc.
Someone else getting access to the item doesn’t change any of that.
If you’re focusing on the jealousy part (attaching value to the item because, in your mind, it made other people envious), you’re just going to make yourself bitter for no reason.

2007 to 2024 is 17 years. 1.7 decades is said as plural. It also just rounds up to 2, which is absolutely plural in any sense.
The only meaning ANY of the rewards in this game have ever had is the meaning the player applies to them.
Even the ultra rare or hard things like server first or random feats of strength.
That tabard is still not as epic as the vacuum cleaner I got from amazon, just sayin

What happened is, no one cared aboout your tabard.
the tabard of frost was never achieved by playing WoW: it was from purchasing a TCG pack and getting lucky RNG or just straight up spending alot of money to buy the specific card.

I think you may be getting a little too upset over this. You got it by fulfilling the requirements, cool. Be proud of yourself for that.
But getting this triggered just because it was given to other people? It’s not that deep, my guy. It’s just an item within a game. You can still be proud of yourself and, hell, you can even tell everyone you meet that you earned it legit.
I promise you, no one will care whether it was earned back then or through prime. YOU know how you earned it, who cares if everyone else knows? You’re wasting time and energy trying to impress people with such things.
