System whiners got their wish

I don’t care if it’s on a video, typed out, or carved in braille, it’s wrong.

I wish I could give you all my :blue_heart:

Dragonflight will be the first true expansion where you can play your alts freely without feeling taxed by it. And everything in Dragonflight will be accountwide.

Except that Shadowlands, for example, has a truckload of content that isn’t “boring system grinds” and is, in fact, transmog collecting/pet collecting/ etc.

Most people REFUSED to do any of it, though. What are they going to be doing in Dragonflight when it offers up more of the same (but far less than Shadowlands did)?

Fishing but no one thinks of it. Want to try the net fishing if there is with the taskar.

That too and possibly other things like archeology

You keep saying SL was the most content rich expansion, and it both hinges on a technicality, and still isn’t correct with that in consideration. So I take that with a grain of salt.

Most people would rather do nothing than something as soulcrushingly boring as a currency grind. I am glad I don’t have to engage in one, it will give me far more time for alts and professions.

I would hope they will

No, Legion was the most content rich expansion. But you had to go through every class hall’s content to access it.

Shadowlands has the 2nd-most world content of any expansion. But you have to cycle through all 4 covenants to do it all.

Crafting is there to fill the option of mindless grinds. But what else did you do when you had endless grinds. All these sources you mention as something that will be only remained content, were actually main source of your AP power.

They dropping now because they reach their cap really fast no mater what they do. Casuals mostly run alts , maybe low keys , pet farm transmog runs, because they are limited with power they can gain by being casuals. These crazy AP grinds where mostly for meta players who will chase that 0.01% of power increase

I’m surprised the OP likes are in the double digits.

But unfortunately they haven’t updated it but hey someday they will but it still works in its current form but wish they had an idea to revamp it and make it more fun and more Indiana jones like.

What currency grind? I’m talking about things like the abomination factory and ember court.

You know - the content that isn’t connected to gear, or grinds, or anything of the sort BUT THAT PEOPLE REFUSED TO DO ANYWAY.

If you want to pin down a real problem with the game right now, it’s that there is nothing worth grinding for.

Nobody wants to spend weeks chasing or crafting a particular item that’s going to be obsolete in the next three or four months. When you got the lionheart helm, or managed to get sulfuras, or even something minor like an eye of quag, that item was good for the entire expac.

This isn’t really a thing anymore, there is no object permanence, all rewards are temporary and even the most garbage lfr raider will be able to run a heroic dungeon next season to match your hard earned mythic quality gear.

The entire game should not be designed around keeping high level players who are going to use up the content anyway on the hamsterwheel of grinding mindlessly. You can never create enough content to keep them happy. Let them unsub without penalty until the next patch, and create the sort of world content that is fun enough to be repeatable by the majority of players.

And we can have things like that in the game without tying them to an azurite or borrowed power system.

Amen to that. The constant freebie catch-up just encourages people to quit, rather than to stick around and >gasp< play the game.

I dont know who these people youre talking about are. Hyperbole?
I dont think anyone said anything even remotely similar to your statement here.

“play the game like I play it…or else”
sound about right?

Clearly its the tedious, BORING content that is the problem here.
Clearly SOME are ok with that tedious, BORING content.
give me GOOD content. INTERESTING content. COMPELLING content…and I WiLL ‘just play the darn game’.
Dont expect me to want to run TRASH content for trinkets.

Should’ve let you choose one covenant at the start, max that, and then join another covenant and level that one.

Gating one covenant to each character, forcing people to level 4 toons in order to see all the storylines, all while having to grind that generic fluff content over and over, was such a dumb decision by Blizzard.

Shadowlands had a lot of stuff, but unless you want to drag yourself through a pit of sharp needles to pass through the hurdles of covenant swapping, you’re missing out. Even allowing us to change in 9.2 was scuffed as hell. Resetting quests, separate anima reservoirs, only allowed to change in Oribos.

A single change to that whole system and this expansion would’ve been looked on WAY more favorably.
