I have been playing classic since launch fine. With today’s patch wrath classic had a requirement changed so that nvidia macs can no longer play. Please revert this change that was not communicated and does not seem needed. Or refund the affected players for time paid.

If it’s running slow it’s probably your add-ons no longer compatible generating Lua errors.

No the executeable will not activate specifically saying it is because my system can no longer run it. They changed a line to make wrath have the same requirements as retail, where they used to be lower.

Can you force it to use the, yes I know its crappy, assumed internal Iris gpu till they fix this?
even macs like even intel windows gaming laptops throw in that crappy intel iris for when you really don’t need better graphics running off battery only. Iris works for basic stuff to save battery is why.
Maybe force the iris as primary till this gets resolved?
Inserts comment about most companies reach out and ask for mac people to ptr this. so they have that data. not blizzard it seems.
post this in the technical support forum, blues actively read and post there.

Mmnah. Its pretty average. Good for rp, and pvp would be great if you could just dive in and play, but the game wastes your time with pointless drivel.
The pve though is a joke. 15 year old content, gear progression is such a trashy form of progression, not to mention the slowly creeping level bloat which we all know where that ends up.
All in all, big no thanks from me. Game belongs back in 2008. Retail is worse, but thats due to a whole different set of reasons. Classic was over when TBC released.
tiers 7 and 9 were the worse in raiding history.
tiers 8 and 10 will make up for it.
Classic runs on retail engine and newest DirectX.
You can probably spoof that identifier string and run it. Dunno, haven’t bothered with a Hackintosh for a decade now but I used to be able to get around stuff like that

I am having the same issue on my Mac and cannot play.
Hard to give an objective answer. A lot of mmos are better in some aspects, and worse in others, just depends on what you value.
I suppose I didnt quite make myself clear. By pointless drivel, I meant forcing you into gameplay that isnt relevant to your interests. If you want to pvp for example, you’re forced into at least 100 hours of leveling and wasting time gearing before you can actually be competitive, and 99% of that time is spent NOT doing the activity you want to be doing. Thats what i meant by pointless drivel.
Its like, if you wanted to play apex legends, but before you could play, you had to play through a 100 hour campaign story, and then spend 20 hours farming arena matches, before you could hop into battle royale, when all you wanted to do was go straight into battle royale.
I dont need to do it in this version, i did it back in og wrath. Also, theres nothing intrinsically linking gear progression to an rpg. The only thing thats required for a roleplay game is the ability to play a character role. The mental link you have between gear progression and rpgs is entirely fabricated.
As I said, games still good for rping in, you know, the first two letters in the term RPG. The ACTUAL point of a role playing game. That said, I only resubbed for the christmas break to rp, sub is just ticking down, and i use the forums for entertainment while at work. Watching people try to justify the game wasting their time is endlessly amusing.
game settings change it self randomly also vsync don’t work so its pushing to over 200 fps and cant limit it to 60 anymore i don’t wanna use all that power for wow
Youre right that tier 8 and 10 are epic, but 7 and 9 are nowhere near as bad as molten core. MC is the most boring rpg content ever made.
and yet every classic #Fresh player will tell you it’s the best time to be alive.
Raids are fun during progression and while learning fights, and the thrill of beating the boss for the first time.
Problem is, with content this old, progression and learning fights doesnt exist, theres hundreds of guides out there for the content, and many people will beat it first try. Maybe hard mode content, but the joy of figuring out the mechanics yourself are gone.
Grinding t8 and t10 after that is definitely not fun at all.
