Excuse me for the ramble.
In the most recent cinematic they mentioned Thunderbluff becoming the next Teldrassil. How would that even work? Tauren have been the backbone of the Horde for years. Orcs, Trolls, Blood Elves, and even a decent amount of Forsaken surely wouldn’t be okay with attacking them. Even if they did attack, Tauren are 8-9 foot tall cow people who hunted their entire lives making them raw muscle, and since the Orcs aided them they’ve become some of the most formidable fighters in Kalimdor. The only way would be to blight Mulgore and I really doubt the thousands of Trolls, Orcs and other races living in Durotar/Orgrimmar would just go along with that without an uproar. I know the cinematic was to show Thrall and Jaina rejoining and saying if they stand together they could stop that, and I’m really rambling on about a small quote, I just don’t see how that thought would ever occur without massive and immediate repercussion.
We don’t know, perhaps the Void could be on her side. We aren’t even sure if she’ll go after Thunder Bluff.
The easiest way to do it is through the use of WMDs deployed by the Forsaken (and Goblins?).
Rallying the other races of the Horde to genocide the Tauren shouldn’t be possible especially if their leaders, like Lor’themar, have any sway over their people.
But it was also stated somewhere that the Horde citizens (and presumably soldiers) like Sylvanas. So if the coup hasn’t gone into effect, she should still have enough clout to use the Horde against itself one more time.
Any Forsaken not okay with attacking Thunder Bluff isn’t Forsaken.
Even by Warcraft standards where infinite troops spawn it’s ridiculous. The forces of Thunder Bluff should crush Sylvanas, possibly literally with rocks. A force stationed at the base of Thunder Bluff is open to being flanked from every direction, including from above. That’s if you even get past the gate. And with Alliance and other Horde helping?
Imagine Sylvanas’ forces on an open plain, trying to climb the mountain with the elevator turned off. Tauren dropping rocks below, Highmountain Eagle Riders joining their allies and swooping about… I don’t care how “military genius” she is supposed to be, the problems are numerous.
Even getting into Mulgore is unlikely. How can she even get siege weapons past the lava chasm in the Barrens? Her fleet is gone. The cost of taking Thunder Bluff was even used as a justification not to continue the war in Mists.
i don’t know, if a good war showed something is that horde soldiers are a bunch of yes-man that would do anything that the warchief commands.
if sylvanas says that they need to siegue thunder buff, they will do it.
lord’themar also mentions that people support her.
OK … I don’t think she gives a damn about Thunderbluff. She apparently LETS Baine gets rescued after all. Honestly, from all indications on her tactics her goal never was winning this war; everything points to plain escalation for the sake of keeping the conflict escalated.
At this point, I’m pretty much convinced that she’s under a similar deal that the Horde PC is with Bwon; and every single person that has died in this war (beyond those that have died at the hands of the Horde PC AFTER they made their bargain with Bwon) are headed to Hell with Helya (would at least give some explanation as to why the Forsaken NEs are so damned convinced that Elune abandoned them; they got sucked into the wrong afterlife after they died).
well she does kinda help free nzoth by sending the person wielding the heart of azeroth right into their claws (do old gods have claws) but i doubt its anything more than a partnership
I’ll tell you how.
The writing team’s lost their marbles full-sale. This is ridiculous. This is beyond absurd.
Yikes! I don’t wanna defend a horde city.
Say it with me kids: Barrens Warfront.
She has catapults that can fire flaming balls from miles away. I don’t think she even has to leave Orgrimmar.
But hey… Wouldn’t it be great if Gallywix updated that continental goblin gun he has in his backyard to turn towards Thunderbluff?
Maybe there is something to that. If the horde army attacked TB, it would make for a really awkward warfront… but, maybe thrall’s words will be used for a reason for the alliance to fortify in the barrens, to “protect Thunderbluff from Sylvanas” and then something goes horribly wrong there? It could at least bring the story back into some normalcy.
She’ll actually burn down the bluffs themselves.
Like they’ll light on fire and in the end there will just be flat ground instead of plateaus.
Would make as much sense as burning down Teldrassil in the middle of the ocean with some piddly catapults.
I think this is where you’re running into an issue. The Forsaken under Sylvanas would have no problem attacking Thunder Bluff. It doesn’t have to be all of them, even just a force of fanaticals is enough to justify a raid.
“Azerite fire.” haha
Two expansions from now, we’ll look back on this from our Tauren-Kaldorei guild, Kalimdor Vagrants, and realize it was the beginning of a new faction.
Because BLizzard wants everyone to congregate in the Officially Sanctioned Expansion Hub™ if they aren’t spending their AFK time in Ogrimmar or Stormwind. Hence why all the portals in the game got deleted except for the former.
The Current dev team thinks having options and change was a mistake.
The same way she was able to burn Teldrassil.
A large part of the Horde will just do whatever she tells them. This war never would have happened if Blizzard allowed the Horde to think for themselves.
or the warfront could be rebels and alliance vs loyalist
