Sylvanas turning bad is too depressing

Just watches this video before i came into this thread, some of what he says hits right, some of it not so much. Only time will tell if he is right or not.

We can only hope. For the Dark Lady!
I would like it but the alliance seem to win all the time. Maybe they will actually get to kill one of our most powerful heroes in the end.

A billion times better than the brain dead or racist muh superiority reasons most evil characters have.

Hell I would be satisfied if she did all that just a way to escape from her fate in shadowlands, it would be a rational reason to do all that if you avoid eternal torment and I would truly respect her intelligent cunning plans in order to achieve her rational personal goals. But i assume it will be more than that.

Most interesting thing about Sylvanas post Wrath was that one scene you get as a horde hunter if you visit her in Undercity where she lights up like christmas if you have Thas’dorah. Like she exhibits more personality when she sees that bow than she does in any other scene after Wrath.

Other than that she’s just generic edgy thot mood-181

Turning?

She has never been that good.

Honestly didn’t mind her before Cataclysm…sure she didn’t do that much. But she seemed more like an absentee leader with a chip on her shoulder and a death wish than whatever the hell she’s supposed to be in Cata, BFA and Legion. I include Cata cause she kinda transforms from bossing you around because everyone is going to die otherwise in Wrath to weirdly “Nothing can touch me tralalalala” in Cata. And no…I doubt they were planning this Maw storyline for that long…so it wasn’t a deal with Shadowlands Devil equivalent…it was just bad writing.

No redemption arc for Sylvanas?

If they wanted a redemption arc for Sylvanas they should of pulled it around Legion…instead they firmly made me hate her by randomly killing off Vol’Jin just to make her Warchief.

It was not random. They needed to kill Voljin so they can use him in SL. But I rather they use thrall more in SL than Voljin

They did not plan Shadowlands while writing Legion.

Vol’jin’s death might not have been random at all. It might have been a plot to install Sylvanas…and i have a feeling we will find out more in Shadowlands about that.

That was confirmed at Blizzcon. Vol’jin was killed by the Jailer so that Sylvanas could become Warchief, which was instrumental to their shared plan- he said during the 8.1 quests that he was cut off from the loa at the time, or his regeneration and awareness would have saved him. That also means everyone was right when they said Varian’s death was her fault.

Good point about Varian’s death i hadn’t thought about it that way.

Although after the garbage of SoO i wish we could have had his own troops kill him in his sleep…but we got what we got. At least he died sooner rather then later, now we just need to kill of his son who is heading down the same road.

They %100 only thought of that this year.

What this guy said while selfish in nature her end goal ends up saving us all. Which includes herself obviously.

Thats a major retcon if thats true. And wouldve involved demons and the Burning Legion into this plan.

Heck if you want to stretch it to Varians death too. We need to include Gul’dan and Sargeras into this.

It’s almost certain that Blizzard is going to pull a Kerrigan with her and have her be the savior of the universe.

Her story is that of a villain, the conduit through which Blizzard advances Scourge-esque stories in a post WotLK WoW, but I also believe certain Blizzard writers are far too personally attached to her to ever make her a true villain and get defeated. No matter what she does they’ll jut throw in a “but it was for the greater good all along” at the end to redeem her.

They already retconned Edge of Night to have an entire second half that isn’t in the story.

She’s been evil since… forever, not sure why it’s a shocker.

Beats having a constant “let’s all hold hands” and be friends while we continue to slaughter each other over and over again narrative.
