Sylvanas: official traitor to the horde

“The Horde is nothing” - Sylvanas Windrunner, who then kills Saurfang with some sort of death magic then abandons the Horde and runs away instead of fighting the Horde and Alliance.

Is this real life?

yes, there was a big shiny cinematic for it and everything. Saurfang challenged Sylvanas to Makgora, started winning, and Sylvans said the horde sucks and just blasted him away and then flew off like a bat.

Is this a fantasy?

So, so glorious. Now there is absolutely NO DOUBT she never did anything for the Horde.

Caught in a landslide? No escape from reality?

I’d pay to see Sylvanas’s loyalists’s faces now. It’s almost like the crazy mad tyrant who treated the Horde as means to an end and obviously cared more about her personal agenda than the Horde…cared more about her personal agenda than the Horde! Who knew?

surprised Pikachu face (although I was never a loyalist)

That was anti-climactic.

I’m happy Sylvanas is no longer here to make the Horde feel like a Fascist nuScourge warcrime simulator.

But Blizzard’s decision to write this storyline will always and forever be the most amazingly stupid idea I’ve experienced in a fantasy franchise. If Blizzard wanted to set up Sylvanas as a major player in the story to come, they didn’t need to make her Warchief, fracture the Horde, or unite us with the Alliance to do it.

Sylvanas should have stayed a manipulator from the shadows, escalating the war from behind the scenes until Vol’jin (who shouldn’t have died) had no choice but to declare war. Would have made a much better story and not dragged the Horde through the mud as badly

Seeing the Forsaken guard break their cool for a second when she shouted the Horde was nothing was a neat touch.

I still think they are going to do a faction merge and create 2 new factions, which sort of necessitates the last part.

History seems to repeat itself… MOP 2.0

i liked it
it doesnt tie everything together in a bow and fix all the bad stuff we were doing before though.
it just stands alone as a good end to the previous bad

Nope.

You just wait.

Everything she said and did could be interpreted in a larger context where she sees something about to happen that we have no idea about.

Before you call me a sylvannas fanboy or something like that I’d just like to point out that this is excatly the way Blizzard’s writing team does “surprises.” They will not allow Sylvannas to be Garrosh 2.0 - some day we’ll all be singing her praise.

I am disappointed.

The knife hovering over our back the entire expansion came down. Lost a Warchief and faction leader. Alliance assisting Saurfang in a Mak’gora, and Sylvanas just up and flies off into the sunset.

Edit: Oh and lets not forget Calia. Chances rising she is the new Forsaken leader now.

No, you’re right. She’s always the same, ‘grey’ character like Illidan. She is trying to slay N’zoth, and defeat the void. The Horde, The Alliance - just play things. She is after the big fish. She is and always was someone you questioned but she fought the greater evil (Arthas, etc.).

Not good writing, but she’s going down this path for a while. Hope you were subverted! lol…

I’m laughing out loud here…she just freaks out and shout that she doesn’t need the Horde when all she had to do was keep her mouth shut!

Hahahahahaha…my god! How can someone still like this character? She’s not even A GOOD VILLAIN. She lost the Horde cause she decided to have a tamper tantrum. Oh my god that was the most stupid thing I ever seen in a story…did people actually got PAID to write this?

To be fair, Sylvanas was a pretty useless Warchief.

Again: starts a war no one needs. And still manages to lose 8 Horde soldiers for every night elf combatant she takes down, decimating the Horde right from the get-go.

Immediately throws her best chance of victory away to “kill hope”. Which she doesn’t, because the night elves are back on Kalimdor and pressing the Horde pretty much immediately.

Loses her city, while her “cunning trap” fails because HALF THE PEOPLE SHE TRIED TO TRAP CAN TELEPORT WE JUST SEE ALLERIA DOING IT HOW WAS THAT EVER SUPPOSED TO WORK… Oh, and also killing any Horde soldiers that the Alliance and the plague missed in the process, while the Alliance troops were already sent back to Brill.

Oh, there’s a rebellion? Wait and see. Keep waiting.

Horde gets to the point where they’re losing on all fronts and weeks out from total collapse under Sylvanas’s sterling leadership.

…And then she sank what was left of the Horde’s fleet.

I did enjoy Saurfang calling her out on that. But really, she’s been worse than useless for the Horde. Can’t say I’m surprised by the development that she hates them and thinks they’re pathetic.

Sylvanas didn’t betray the Horde, the Horde betrayed Sylvanas.

Watch the ending to the loyalist campaign sometime.

Nothing lasts.
