Sylvanas Loyalist Quest Line Gone?

You only got the toy if you sided with Saurfang anyway.

And this I feel like they worked on that scene just to kill the quest line, like it really does nothing to leave it in, I feel like I hope its just bugged or something but sad day if not

Was their response a blue post somewhere?

They’re coming out with a sequel soon. Steam did have a release date of March this year but now it just says 2020.

It wasn’t on the forums. It was either Blizzcon or a tweet somewhere. I’ll see if I can dig it up.

Most likely not. They put in to appease the fans, but I can almost guarantee you there’s no future impact. Which, if they took it out, is why it’s gone.

I wouldnt surprised if they did that, blizzard is all about punishing people if they dont stay and play their game and then removing content.

Lannisteros will continue to be the Dark Lady’s weapon against the Void slaying Horde traitors that’s for sure! I only did the quest on my mage and really don’t wanna play him anymore ugh lmao

They are smart to delay it, they have a lot of competition right now.

And i have no problem waiting, although their ARG had me sweating bullets.

It does a lot if you remove it, you punish people for not playing and scare current players into not leaving because they might lose content that they ll never get to play.

The thing is fear works only short term, and when people are fed up they are gone and wont bother again, and the repeated removal of current content really is starting to make me feel like I should not bother with WoW ever again, it is becoming more and more disgusting manipulation attempts after disgusting manipulation attempt

I’ve been playing for a long time, im not overly concerned and have seen lots of this type of conduct from them
but I would like to know. They do like their shadow nerfs though.

Indeed they do. And this is probably one of those, “crap, we backed the story and characters into a corner, so let’s just remove it and pretend it never existed” moves they like to do.

Unfortunately, I feel you are super spot on.

Sad that a bunch of roleplayers thought ahead to how much it would back people into a corner down the road, but Blizz didn’t.

I found it; Wowhead interview.

If you are a Sylvanas loyalist, the things she said to you at Windrunner Spire were meant to wrap up that specific storyline. She’s basically saying “You were with me, you made these choices, you were on the right side of it. Those choices can’t save you from what’s to come.” So it was meant to wrap up that arc because it was not something we wanted to carry forward.

If you were a loyalist before, it’s not going to be something that directly impacts how your gameplay is going to shape out.

That and I know people who faction changed from Alliance to Horde before 8.3 said they weren’t given the option to side with Sylvanas, but they just continued on and didn’t care. So when I heard that from a few people I started to wonder if it was gonna get removed or if the faction change was bugged for them or what

Yep
because you should feel bad about trying to deviate from Blizzard’s storyline
 (sarcasm)

Makes senses, WoW is an MMO, not a single-player narrative. Not that I support removing content, far from it, however I had a sneaking suspicion that the “loyalist” choices were just a fan-service toss away; no real or lasting impact on the story.

Narrative wise, all the Sylvanas loyalists were rounded up after the Fourth War. So if you want to keep playing your character, you can’t be one of them. :four_leaf_clover:

Wow, thank you for getting that. Pretty clear. I appreciate you.

They should have given people that did the storyline a Feat of Strength at least.

I think that would make people happy.

Swtor has managed that just fine, blizzard is just terrible and letting players be themselves instead of some brainless good guy hero.

There’s a ton of ways to make it impactful, blizzard refused and it was pretty expected.

What wasnt expected was the complete removal of the loyalist questline which would only be important to players who want to feel like they have some agency as to who they are, instead of the brainless good guy
