New story was a throw back to kotor and was prob best they ever did. As for pvp its more balanced then wow has been since wrath, my fav pvp class is sniper tbh nearly insta kill with ambush headshot from behind.
You aren’t wrong. SWTOR offers a better story then WoW currently does for the most part. Their PvP is better and they even have player housing which is mostly PvE but they also have a PvP house you can get to host your own matches and build the arena yourself. It’s really quite nice.
Now with that being said it would be nice if WoW would take a few pages from them but I don’t believe that will happen since the expansions are basically templated to cut development costs. Still maybe if people keep posting like the OP someone might listen instead of just bashing all the time. I know posts like these get old but you can’t have change when people stay silent…hic!

It does have a good story line when leveling. Enjoyed the cinematic for all the quests and your involvement in the quests. Was fun. Only issue I had was end game. was lost and didnt really know what to do. PVP was fun but not that into just pvp in these games.
wish it had more controller support. If it had controller support I’d go back and level another character through it, really did enjoy that aspect…just want to play with controller while throwing my light saber around.
Until you finish the class and follower stories, SWTOR has ALWAYS been more fun than WoW. WIth more story and a more interesting set of quests than “go kill 800 more people” Star Wars could be great, but they didn’t do as well as hoped and its super expensive to write and voice act all those lines.
they do well. if they made an option for console like ffxiv and eso they would definitely take off
ESO has been my replacement while waiting for New World. It has its own problems for sure, but it has been a nice reminder of what a MMORPG feels like, versus the e-sport almost lobby game that wow has become.
thought new world released already. saw some streams of it a while ago. did they pull the release for something? looked interesting and reminded me of far cry primal
That was just an alpha test they lifted the NDA for. It had mediocre content at the time, but they have made a ton of additions and changes that have me cautiously optimistic. (It’s nice to see them actually listen to player feedback vs. the exact opposite we got with the SL alpha/beta)

SWTOR 100% does a ton of things better than WoW. Tanks in pvp have a purpose. The DR stunlocking mechanic in SWTOR works for all CC so you can’t sit stunned for 20 seconds straight.
You can change between multiple transmogs without paying money or going to a vendor. You can dye your armor w/e colors you want. You get to pick exactly what stats you want on your armor. Its amazing. Gearing is easy to do for capping so content is all around earning cosmetics in pvp, and pve. You’re there to play the game, not grind for months hoping you can enjoy it.
Its great! I play it while I play WoW. Been playing SWTOR forever and its a blast all the time. Plus its got great minigames like the mini starfox style shooter, and the space ship pvp.

Yeap, it started off as a pvp gankbox style game but they steered in the direction of a real MMO when they realized the market for pvp games is super niche. That’s why its been delayed multiple times. Currently release is in late August.
have they added controller support yet? may try a rewasd profile but would prefer native support
I played the alpha it was super fun. Looking forward to this game for sure. The art style was amazing. The spooky undead area. Was spooky!
I doubt it. Most MMO’s don’t have controller stuff. It’d be really hard to play with any controller anyway.

It’s a better game for roleplaying but SWTOR’s end game is lackluster to say the least.

yeah saw that. probably going to try again with using ReWASD since they have a couple profiles as well. One i remember enjoying too is the Dungeons and Dragons mmo…after tweaking it a bit (the announcements is annoying but its free so i understand it). Just probably wouldnt purchase all the packs unless i knew people who played

WoW just rushes you to end game, only for the end game to be terrible. I’ve switched to ESO myself. I find it infinitely superior to WoW.
