With the new way professions are leveled, I have engineering leveled to max in every expansion. Up until MoP, I had jewelcrafting instead of engineering. I wanted to switch to Jewelcrafting again because I feel a lack of raid utility, but I was wondering, if I ever went back to engineering, if they revamp it mid expansion, will the relearning book sold from the trainer relevel all previous expansions? Or just BfA?
Thanks!
From my experience dropping and picking back up Alchemy⊠youâre going to have to purchase and quest for everything all over again. I had to purchase every single BfA recipe again for many thousands of gold and wait for the random World Quest recipes to spawn again. Plus I had to go around and start at level 1 on every single expansionâs Alchemy.
The books in Legion and BfA only re-learn the recipes / patterns that you previously learned by questing in Legion and/or in BfA and could not learn again. They do not re-learn any Vanilla / BC / WotLK / Cata / MoP or WoD recipes / patterns and do not learn any in Legion or BfA unless they were acquired via questing.

Thank you for the clarification! This is exactly what I was looking for.
Also, thank you to the person before who essentially assumed the same thing.

Thank Lord I never unlearned alchemy. I have some rare old recipes Iâll never use, but, oh, the personal bond.
Also, there are some old quests in Engineering that you wonât be able to acquire again. The Zapthrottle Mote Extractor is an example.
