Swifty's NPC Removed

due process

Sorry that happened to your sister. I understand Twitter can’t charge a person with a crime, but what it can do is create awareness for what is going on in the gaming/streaming industry, and possibly grant some closure for the victims by finally being able to share their story.

I also understand that some people will falsely accuse someone for their own reasons. Which is why I’ve said multiple times in this thread that it’s an impossible situation for all parties, even Blizzard. Remember that there are stories of Blizzard employees sexually harassing other female employees/interns and their HR department ignoring it that have come out over the last couple days. They are neck deep in this too.

Blizz should be careful about judging people just because someone got accused for something but hasn’t yet received a verdict.

I live in Sweden and two years ago a tv-host was accused for committing rape ( rape in Sweden doesn’t have to be a fully sexual intercourse, sexual assault is categorized as rape) The host was accused to have assaulted a co-host during an after production party during when they (and some other people was bathing in a hot tube ) This happen back in 2017.

When the MeToo-movement started, the woman who was assaulted reported him to the police who started an investigation. The tv-network that the host worked for fired him and his show, including reruns was removed from broadcast. ( It was one of those home improvement shows, it had run for 10 years)

He was put to trial at court, and in 2018 the verdict fell. He was innocent. He didn’t do it. The woman’s story didn’t make any sense at all. Still… There he was, his reputation ruined, unemployed… So what did he do? He sued the tv-station that fired him. He won…
He then started to sue the news-agency’s one after one that had reported him as a sexual predator… And he’s winning those cases as well…

And Sweden isn’t nowhere near US when it comes to sue people/companies for cash…

So Blizzard might reconsider doing stuff that accuses people for something before they even have a verdict.

How is that possible without some form of totalitarian government? Trial by public opinion is inevitable in a democracy.

Yup being born a male in this society is a sin…right?

Then why do you keep talking about due process? Due process is the right to a fair trial in a court of law.

What does due process have to do with the NPC being removed?

This isn’t employment. It isn’t even close to employment.

You should all go read angry joe’s response to all this. I sincerely believe that man is innocent. I don’t know about Swifty. He needs to make a statement, though I understand why his legal team probably advised him not to.

No.
That kinda thought process just leads to innocent people getting thrown in prison.

Like I said, it’d be more discouraged if public figures could take people to court over it.

Wait you think Swifty is gonna be able to sue Blizzard in court because they removed an NPC that bore his name?

Seriously? lol

Follow the conversation and to whom I was replying to then maybe you’ll gain some clarity.

Joe made it after consulting with lawyers. Probably swifty will do it too.

I read it. It looked very sincere.

It’s called Trust but verify. This mentality has no place in a civilized society.

It means they could wait until a trial is over and the case is settled. If he’s found guilty than no one would blame them for removing it.

The removed “my” searing totem from Alpha. Maybe I should look into this too…lol

I just hope everyone who is falsely accused sues their accuser. These people deserve to be put in jail. Rape isn’t a joke or social experiment!

Yeah I know Sweden has its worst too. United States influence on this “empowered women” been polluting a lot of minds. It’s all about who has the better manipulative game. They don’t realize what they’re creating when it comes back to bite them, but harder like Amber Heard for an example.

There’s now two accusations against Swifty.

Oh snap, someone’s on fire.
