i don’t understand…on retail on 20alt left outside mgt, just to farm that mount, i got it after months of constant farming.
now in classic tbc i got it already & saw it dropping 3times !!!?!!!
is blizzard buffing the chances of rare drops in tbcc? or what? I can’t be this lucky to see that mount 3x times in 2weeks.
The Swift White Hawkstrider doesn’t have a very low drop rate like other mounts. I am not sure the exact rate but compared to other dungeon mounts it is on the higher end.
I farmed mounts for years, my retail account has the 400 mount ach and I have seen that mount a good 7 times just by doing timewalking or running the dungeon for other reasons (like the blood elf orb back in the day.) I even once saw it drop twice in the same day.
It is a good mount to get used to rng mounts and lower drop rates.
I’m pretty sure the majority of ‘special’ mounts got a secret buff. I started getting suspicious when Brewfest mounts dropped like crazy.
Mix that with huge servers and you’ll see way way way more.
The reason why there are so many holiday mounts in classic is because you could kill the boss five times a day unlike in retail where they put a limit on it for once per toon.
I had runs where we would either see no mounts or 3. Still had to win the roll but having 5 chances per day helps a lot.
Also brewfest has a higher drop rate than Hollow end and the future Love is in the Air mount. Another reason why they are all over the place.
highly likely because in OG TBC i never saw it drop and only knew one player who had it until he quit in WoD.
From the digging I could find it’s about 5% drop rate which is really good for a mount. They are usually 1% or lower (shakes a fist at the kara mount). I am even finding places that claim it’s above 5% drop rate so that is why people are seeing this (and I have in the past) so much. It isn’t some thing to get this into your hands. It’s just rng and this mount has very good rng for a mount.
The White Hawkstrider has a 5% drop chance, might be an expansion specific thing like how Invincible has a 100% drop rate but once WotLK ends it’s 1%
I’ve seen it and the pet more than the shard trinket.
someone in group wanted to buy the mount i won but i told him that i love chocobo more than i love the gold.
But i haven’t seen the pet yet, i know it drop on normal so anyone can farm it but i only do the hc hoping that i can see & get the Cute Changer Orb.
I have seen 4 shards drop while healing and never while on my melee alts, its so annoying
Speaking from mount hunting experience, only doing a few dungeons a day for a mount is good for your sanity.
Also if you can come back and solo the place in wrath that would be the perfect time to get the mount if you really, really want it. It will still be there and rule number one on mount hunting. Cut out as much coemption as you can so you can move on to the next mount. It eats up way to much game time lol.
Last thing you want is an ultra rare mount to drop and 20+ people to roll on something you will never see again. (And I don’t mean using master loot to get your way I just mean soloing the instance)
people in wrath should be able to solo mgt hc for the white chocobo but soloing kael won’t be an option not untill Cata, and not every class will be able to do it, from my experience as i started soloing kael in cata with that tactic about hitting kael and running to instance door, to kill adds on different location at VR/solarian/instance door to avoid fighting them all in p3 at same time, which required good dps while kitting (Shuriken Toss in cata was 1000% better than what it is now) & In same time evasion for weapons & clos for Remote Toy, avoid pyro and remove the debuff in p5, also rogues in cata have 2x type of healing, Recuperate & that life steal poison , kael fight itself is peace of cake since u can fight him at al’ar where he won’t spawn birds there "they’ll spawn in his room and they won’t come, and you can chill attacking and clock the pyro but once kael is 50% he will run to his room do his RP then move back to you, you gotta wait at kael room door, u won’t be able to enter it but u need to be there to burn him with all cd’s before the Gravity Lapse because once he do it He will teleport u in the room and you’ll find a lot of birds but it shouldn’t be problem kitting interrupt healing trying to survive till 2nd lapse. and kael will die in it.
for hc icc 25man LK that can be soloed super easily by any end game mythic gear user in mop cus mop scale on stats/dps was insane compared to previous expansion.
i had invincible during wotlk but i kept farming it in whole mop~bfa and looted 3x of it in my bags because i hoped and still hoping that maybe one day blizzard will make it tradable.

i’m a diablo 2&3 player, i no longer have any sanity left in me after all the farm for same things over and over.
I’m assuming over the years, they have decreased the drop % of trivial contents mounts
I don’t know but, think the OG retail versions were far more strict on the drop rates being 1% or less.
I’m 3.5 bars to exalted with Suns. I haven’t done a SINGLE quest. I’ve run MGT since release. Saw it drop one time. Saw bag drop 1 time. Saw toy drop 1 time. Never seen pet.
So yeah, good for you. Enjoy it I suppose, There will be people who will never see it drop.
drops is all about luck i guess, i got everything except the Cute Changer Orb.

well…you can get used to anything with time.
and on big screens the empty area’s i have is still huge, but i do zoom out char in certain fights, however playing wow in general doesn’t require you to focus on screen! you only focus on trackers/addons.
