We need a defensive buff. Like a parry cd or evasion cd.
Damage is fine. Damage is really good tbh. The 5% buff was a nice bonus but wasn’t needed for pvp.

I’ve been playing mostly mongo with explosive shot over steel trap anyway.
Big 90k crits are fun.
Hit a 115k kill shot on a rogue last week before the buff.

I don’t think we need a defensive buff. I do think Turtle needs to reworked though. Spells in the air should not count. Remove the animation delay. Turtle should work lock ice block or bubble in how it prevent new damage. Existing dots or channels can stay. I have too many screenshots of getting hit with execute .2-.3s after Turtle is up.
I’d rather just be able to punish classes that push in. Like warriors… If a spec wants to chase me los AND I can’t punish them for it, that’s an issue. This becomes less of a hunter issue and more of a larger design problem. I get that nerfing warrior defensives takes into account of lot other problems, but I’d rather see that then get more as a hunter.
Also, I’d rather our pets just not be a liability. Ever. Killing my pet shouldn’t be a free win. I get having good pet control, but if Blizzard wants damage to stay where its at, our pets will continue to get deleted. Pets mattered more when our pet attacks could be used LOS and pet damage overall was more important. My pet now is basically just there for utility.

Does intimidation work on an enemy that is LoS? Genuinely asking. Many times I spam it on arena target and I wonder why the stun isn’t going through.

I can sort of agree with this, however hunter defensives are quite terrible when compared to every other class. They have the longest CD wall, and Roar of Sacrifice doesn’t even reduce 20% of damage you take (which I thought it did for the longest time). Also pet res should be 1-2 seconds or atleast affected by haste.

Bicmex seems to be doing fine on his. go watch his stream and learn how to SV. that guy is prolly the best hunter on both NA and EU
I guess my thought is that most melee specs have some sort of melee specific defensive cd.
All hunter defensives are general and shared amongst all 3 specs.
Even the two warrior dps specs have different defensive cds in dbts and enraged regen, and both have access to dstance, commanding shout, etc.
Just a thought on sv getting a specific defensive cd for being in melee range. Even something short with a 2 min cd like evasion. Or like eye for an eye like ret has.

Bicmex is probably one of the best players in the world in terms of hunter mastery and game knowledge. Dude could probably still win without ever attacking anyone
They are bad, but we have a decent tool set to deal with stuff. I’m just looking at it from the vantage point of why I might lose a match. I probably have lost more matches to my pet dying then anything else specifically. Granted, that’s compounded with my pet getting almost no healing outside of my own.
There are other minor things I’d change to help. RoS should be baseline. There is almost never a time where RoS isn’t taken.
I get that, but how often are we in melee? Or better question, how often do we want to be in melee? Every ability we have as far as PvP is concerned is ranged outside of Mongoose. With lunge, we can sit just outside of melee as well.
I’m usually pushing for CC and then doing damage or I’m trying to kite and mitigate damage. Here’s an awful analogy since I do a lot of motorcycle riding. In racing, you’re either on the gas or you’re on the brake. You are almost never coasting. So when SV is on the gas, we are accelerating hard and getting dots and damage out and then into Mongoose spam. Then that window closes and we are braking hard and making distance or mitigating damage. Now, that isn’t to say we can’t always be on the gas, but SV has windows it needs to push and windows it needs to back off. It’s somewhat unfortunate that in RSS it’s hard to get that rhythm going at times.
Anywho. I think the tools we have are good and could use some slight changes. Overall though, I’d rather the cat and mouse chase that is Warrior and Mage not dictate the entire game relative to uptime and kiting. >.<

Thinking about selling it and grabbing a street twin, but the used market is still bonkers up here. I’ve had that thought for 3 straight years and haven’t done it yet lol.
Yea, using bicmex as the barometer of success is a bit of a reach. Not that sv is bad by any means, but that dude is wildly amazing. His 2.5 hour sv guide is incredible, and dude gives out a pastebin of info to help new sv players like me get into it and better.
Like I never would have thought of dismiss pet, go in camo, and then call pet and you can use it to attack and even intim without leaving camo!

I used to work for a V-Twin aftermarket company. I got lots of hookups for parts and gear, so it has only made the problem worse.
Working at a SxS performance company now, so it runs a bit in my blood. I won’t be buying one of those anytime soon though… 
I know the feeling. I live in Wisconsin and I get about 6-7 months of riding. That said, as long as it’s above 32 I’m riding. Did about 12k this past summer. Love it.
Yea, the market is nuts. I bought my 1000RR in 2019. Was still in the crate. I can sell the bike now for about what I paid for it 4 years ago… I’m sure the market will come down some, but who knows when. That and I need a new car, but the car market is equally busted right now. zzzzz.
