It was only the best AoE in mythics due to an incredibly degenerate tier set that promoted a two button rotation. That’s not really the pinnacle of game design or something to strive for imo.
Spamming your generator when you’re at full resources just to game a full bomb reset is not a gameplay mechanic.
I’m sorry, you didn’t really explain what you’re struggling with? It’s an incredibly similar gameplay loop and priority system from practically bfa on which is why I am very confused

that’s the basic gameplay loop from…bfa, sl, df, and now tww. that’s why I’m confused on how it’s suddenly “not intuitive” despite being the same fundamentals for going on 7 years?
To play Devil’s Advocate why is anything more than a 3 button rotation considered bloated? Thematically it’s a timed explosive vs a fragment grenade. Gameplay wise it’s a 30sec cooldown and the proc of 2 free casts after Coordinated so I don’t see why people are so opposed to it. At this point Survival has as many buttons as BM which everyone memes is the beginner friendly spec
Trying to merge the two would be a major headache, we have too many interactions from both that would be a balancing nightmare and almost revamp of the tree
It’s not that Im struggling to understand how the class is supposed to be played. I know how to find icy veins. I don’t need help with that.
I am communicating that I don’t like tip. I don’t like the shortened range. I don’t like that SS isn’t an on demand dot that I shoot from range with my crossbow. The spec doesn’t feel as fleshed out without talents like chakrams and the covenant ability death chakrams. The shield from necrolord helped make the spec feel more durable. It’s been a few years but KC also felt more meaningful to press.
The spec felt better to me. If you hated it because it was too boring for your elitist fingers then we don’t really have much common ground so don’t worry about it and we can go our separate ways.
In a discussion about how explosive shot is redundant with wildfire bomb, I don’t see how a 45 second cooldown single target ability really fleshes anything out.
This isn’t even specific to SV…all melee lost the extended range because it was OP.

It’s two ranged instant casts, on top of our ranged SS and our ranged wildfire bombs. Wildfire bombs interacting with the dots from SS that you spread around.
The thing I miss the most is the way our ranged kit felt in big group PvP.
Edit: If SV is just a DK, I’d play a DK. I don’t want to play a spec that does melee damage with a pet by building up runes and spending them before they cap.

As it is, I’m considering just going BM this expansion. I have so few ways to pull mobs for skinning and feel so squishy while trying to kill just three mobs that leveling LW feels like garbage.
In SL I felt like world content was so effortless and smooth.
if you feel like you’d have more fun as bm I say go for it
I find world content super smooth on sv but I like terms of engagement and not having to stack up frenzy for damage or keep beast cleave up. different strokes and all that
