Recently received a 7 day suspension of my chat privileges. Why I received this I have no idea, the only reason given is pasted below from an email.
“You were reported multiple times by your fellow players for inappropriate communication. Some examples include abusive chat, advertisement, spamming, or other communication that violates our code of conduct.”
Besides a fart joke or 2 and suggesting bard as a role to people asking in chat, I have no idea what this could be from. I see conversations daily in LFG about santorum covered femboys and mentally ill individuals, yet I receive a ban.
I’ve requested the transcripts that led to this but the response time listed on the ticket is longer than the suspension.
What gives, is this some normal automated ban. Did I get too close or encroach on some gold farmers and get mass reported, did I win a roll on an item and get reported out of butthurtness.
I have a feeling they are saying that they think trans people are mentally ill and are upset that Blizzard does not penalize people for being trans or talking about being trans. I gather the OP is not very accepting of others who are different than they are.
I want to be wrong, but that is how I read it. I gather what they got reported for was far worse than a “fart joke”.
They also will quickly climb the penalty ladder to a Suspension if they repeat it. I assume a Blue can indeed remind them of what they said.
Exactly. They would never know if others got reported, or what penalty that account might have gotten. Blizzard does not really share. Even the “your report was helpful” messages are hit or miss. They seem to not be delivered, and then when they are it is like 50 at once or something. IDK. I just report and let Blizzard sort it out.
Which has nothing at all to do with your own situation.
You were reported by your fellow players. That’s what leads to a GM looking at your chat and determining if you violated the rules.
Repeating inappropriate chat that you’ve seen in-game here on the forums is also a violation of the rules.
If you haven’t appealed via a ticket yet, that’s what you need to do. That’s all you can do. Posting how terrible other people are is NOT a defense for you.
Nope, you just don’t like the correct responses to your questions/examples. Honestly, can’t imagine why on earth you’ve been actioned - but I’d bet money on toxicity.
Well, you didn’t exactly receive a ban, Chinaski, you received a silence. These things are based on your behavior, not what other people may be saying. I do understand that there may be others who say worse, it doesn’t justify also violating policy and if they are penalized or not really depends entirely on if they are reported, as you were.
To be clear, you weren’t “mass reported”, you were simply reported. Whenever I look into these “I don’t know what I could have done” claims it is always pretty surprising that anyone couldn’t recall what they said to receive the penalty. I don’t know if it is because maybe there are so many instances they cannot pick which one it could be, or they truly have never reviewed the Code of Conduct and understand what inappropriate content is.
While I obviously cannot provide the exact statements you used here, you had two which are the most relevant.
The first, which was more than a week ago in which you discuss a body part and jumping jacks. The second, and far more prevalent since you appear to have been reported for variations of this statement multiple times over the last couple of weeks… having to do with slipping something unsolicited into an area.
Unfortunately, we have a lot of folks who forget that they said something entirely inappropriate in public chat and they tend to put in multiple tickets, as you have, which clogs up the queue and extends response times.
