Surv/Sentinel - Feels Terrible in Dungeon

How is it that we are reliving the terrible feeling that is Lunar Storm (AKA Wild Spirits) in dungeons again…The delayed stationary ground effect that is a large part of our damage that apparently tanks can’t see. Why doesn’t the lunar owl attach to us? Or to our Pet? So that when it procs and the tank immediately moves because of a ground effect or ADHD we don’t lose out on a ton of damage? I hope if it stays the way it is now blizzard at least balances it with the assumption it’ll only be effective 25% of the time in dungeons.

That’s actually a really cool idea!

Because we share it with marks who neither sits on the target nor uses a pet. These types of changes need to work with both.

THe pet Idea could work if the owl was like a dire beast that basically had its own starfall and chases the enemies emitting the damage. This would work easily with MM and SV and would work regardless of pet positioning for SV and work with petless MM without either sv or mm needing to be on the target.

Yeah that would be fantastic. Anything is better than a stationary ground target that the tank can’t see and takes a second and a half to appear after going out.

I posted on a different post, the Owl Needs to follow the initial target it is pooping on.

The owl is just a rehashing of the ability from the night fae in SL imo.

Sentinel feels awful no matter what spec it is lol.

It’d be really cool if you could tell the bird to follow your hunter’s mark or something

It’d be real cool if it did any worth while damage lol. I mean people can stand in it and it’s minuscule damage at best.

It does a significant amount of damage when mobs stay in it. In M+ it’ll be your highest dps ST and it’ll still pull 10% overall in a dungeon maybe more depending on how many mobs stay in it

Well maybe in pve but it feels worthless in pvp

100% useless in PvP I agree

It wasn’t fun it was just strong, no one liked having a stationary aoe that if you messed up there went most of your aoe burst. It was horrible and back in SL and I for one went venthyr the second it become viable. At least with kyrian the crit damage stayed on targets after they moved out but night fae was such a pain.

It’s Wild Spirits but worse tbh. Sure it deals good damage, but the radius is smaller, it doesn’t feel as good to use (playing Survival, WS made hits feel CHUNKY, it was genuinely satisfying and was one of the reasons I stuck with Night Fae for almost the whole expac. I don’t really feel anything from this one…) and visually it honestly looks unfinished, is it meant to look like the owl’s dumping on enemies? I guess the one thing that’s sorta interesting is in dungeons it makes you hold back on throwing bombs too much so you’re not wasting owl procs, but idk if I’d call that fun.

On a side note, I swear I remember hearing about the old visual effects Sentinel had before they changed it to the owl (iirc people thought the old effects were a lot cooler), but I couldn’t find any footage of that - anyone know if that was a thing? I’d be curious to see it lol

Yeah i thought i read that too during beta regarding the visual effects. Would be neat if it is true and someone could drop in a pic of the original look.

on what planet was it fun to have your tank to move, whether because they haven’t taken their adhd meds, or for mechanics, and int your dps
because i certainly wasn’t a fan

i’m sending the blizzard goons to your house with doobl

Fun is subjective I loved it

I will beat them until they fix PL for sv and revert mm to legion
