I think people are putting way too much time and effort into this discussion. There isn’t any practical reason from a development perspective to bring ranged survival back.
To each their own though.

exactly. mm and bm currently has their good and bad points. mm has better burst and cleave and even aoe. bm has better sustain and mobility and solo capabilities. ranged survival especially from around 5.4 to 6.2 was the best of both current mm and bm specs. it had the best burst, best sustained, best mobility and it was on par and in more cases than not better for solo content than bm, i found anyway due to its damage, dots, aoe and cleave.
blizzard just needs to understand that they made a huge mistake and revert it already. this splinter of annoyance is not going anywhere. there is nothing they can do to make melee survival good or fun. nothing. the biggest problem with survival is that it is melee and until they address that fact and change it back to its glorious form of ranged it will continue to be trash no matter how hard they buff the damage of it.
and in all seriousness if they dont want to do that. then fine. however in 10.0 give me back ranged survival. call it dark ranger if you have to. give it back. a 4th spec. and make it as close to 5.4 ranged survival as possible and everyone will be happy.

To be fair it’s not coming back anyway because of what Damo said - Blizzard thought the 2 specs were too similar. If you disagree that’s OK but it’s Blizzards game, not yours.

Yea, you’re probably right, we’ve never seen blizzard ever bring something back that was requested by some/many players. Nope. Never. Not once have we seen that.

My point is that if the people who want Ranged Surival back are rallying behind posts like this, then they aren’t getting Ranged Survival back.

Blizzard is gonna do what Blizzard wants to do regardless of what the forums say.
If they think bringing back RSV will make them more money, then there’s a good chance that’s what’s gonna happen.

Exactly, it all about Blizzard’s ego and what they do with what class, they have the power and they know they can abuse it. You could wake up tomorrow and find out SV going to be a tank spec next expansion cause they decided Hunters need more diversity. We are all at the mercy of bunch of developers who like to treat this game as their play ground.
