That was Hi-Explosive trap. The old Explosive applied a dot and also worked as a aoe attack.
Ahh ok. I think I only used that in bgs for environmental kills! xD
I personally think the whole melee hunter idea is stupid.
Right so it should be throwing weapons
i miss the mop era survival.
When I think hunter (in any game), I automatically default to “It’s ranged.” Meaning bow and arrow/gun.
If I feel like hitting something: there’s plenty of melee specs out there. Even one with “pets” (granted they’re corpses).
To be accurate, before Legion you had Explosive Trap as a weak baseline AoE and you could glyph it to be a knockback instead. Legion removed glyphs and baseline Explosive Trap (SV would keep Explosive Trap in Legion and it would be a key part of the rotation) so they made Hi-Explosive Trap as a PvP talent for the knockback functionality.
I preferred the pre-Legion approach because you could get the knockback in PvE, not just PvP. Hi-Explosive Trap would be extremely valuable in M+ because dealing with Bursting Shot being a melee cone is cumbersome. It’s just another argument as to why they should have never removed non-cosmetic glyphs.
Yesssssssss dual warglaives hunter I’d love it!!!
Also we had Snake Trap that more odd functions. The snakes could hold aggro and be use to stall some mobs as it would kill each snake before come after you.
How about no.
Melee Hunter has been the type exemplar of stupid WoW ideas since the beginning of time.
No. MSV, playing high skill and getting everything from it, it takes skill, and if you miss a lick, it shows.
MM, at a high level, takes skill and is way, way less forgiving of mistakes. At high level play, MM mistakes more likely fatal. I’m not sure at all why.
Wrath SV was great, Cata and MoP fun, BC meh IMO.
