Anyone feel like a surrender vote, as they have in League would be useful? IIRC they require 4 votes (out of 5) to have a successful surrender.
What if we did 30/40 in Epics and a 8/10 or 10/15 in normal BGs.

If this was to be used in a non exploitative way it would be a great feature.
However blizzard knows and most people probably know it’ll be abused in a heartbeat. Especially if you still got rewards for winning a surrender.
It could be good if you don’t get any rewards for winning a surrender. It just turns out to be a 1 sided game and the surrender happens and everyone gets kicked from the bg no gain no loss. Saves the outmatched teams time.
However if they for whatever reason gave the team who wins the surrender rewards it would be again a disaster exploit fest where people would start planting sabatours on your team to have enough to win the surrender vote to help their buddy’s get conq or honor faster.

We don’t need a surrender button, if you don’t want to try just enjoy the debuff. I’d love for them to crack down on the kids exploiting to get around the 5-man group cap by 'queue sync’ing though.

The problem is, i got 3 in-progress games in a row today. People leaving screw people over. Id rather have the team throw in the towel.

Incentivize staying and/or back filling maybe. Guarantee conquest after certain criteria are met perhaps.

I’m getting use to people saying “gg go next” “better luck next time” and just giving up half way in the BG, mostly rated lol
I can see it now.
One team caps the flag and someone spams surrender the rest of the game. That’s what will happen.

No game ive s33n allows you to spam the surrender vote. It would have an internal timer.

You haven’t played very games then.
LoL is notorious for people mashing surrender as soon as it becomes available for an entire game. Adding surrender to WoW would absolutely do more harm than good.

It doesn’t stop people from using the surrender option as many times as they can before the game ends.
No. Just reward people a small amount of conquest and maybe gold for backfilling and staying the rest of the game.

Wintergrasp is really, really bad for this. Whoever loses sunken ring finds themselves down 25 or 30 to 40, and never catches back up. And especially if it’s the offense that loses.
Nobody wants to spend 30 minutes in a bg and get no honor, you’re better off eating deserter and queueing on an alt.
I don’t see how you fix this tbh.
Cracking down on the deserters (bans for gameplay sabotage) would be the final nail in the coffin for pvp in the game.
I once sat in Korrak’s revenge for three hours. I’d queued in -with- a premade that really really awful leader. They didn’t make any attempt to do objectives, they camped graveyards until alliance stopped ressing, then capped and moved to the next graveyard. As they take deserter, fresh people come in to get griefed. It ended with horde sitting outside of the alliance cave, having no kills in 15 minutes, because they literally moved away from the spirit healer, a small group going over to Vann to just end the thing, and the leader losing his **** and calling for them to be reported AFK. If it was between a ban or sitting on the losing end of that game for three hours, I’d never pvp again.
Allowing a surrender vote would be really ripe for abuse unless the forfeiting side also gave up any honor or rewards for it. And then that sucks when you run premades and don’t even get anything for it.

About the only epic battleground left that has potential good pvp game is Ashran. The other three maps suffer from poor development. I don’t blame people at all for leaving them.

This would result in any BG that even looks like a loss being immediately surrendered so as to not waste time, and anyone who doesn’t vote in favor of said surrender being mass reported to remove them so more time isn’t wasted being forced to play a losing game. Sort of like people leaving M+ at the first sign of not timing it.

Hold on, you sat in a 3 hour Korraks and you think a surrender option is a bad idea? I dont understand that logic at all.
You also say “unless the forfeiting side also gave up any honor or rewards for it” …why would the winning side lose honor/rewards?
To be clear, i don’t thibk surrendering would give you any rewards for obvious reasons. Giving honor/rewards to backfillers seems reasonable to me.
Who votes which way wouldn’t be public.
Thats a fair point. I do think they should fix WG before allowing a surrender vote.
