Can someone ask the maker of this addon to make sure it has item level integration like the BFA version?
I hate talking to someone for 10 minutes, invite them to my group and then run to the instance only to find out their gear blows.
The addon author already specified that it won’t have any kind of built in gearscore and Blizzard has already announced there will be no armory profiles for classic characters so your only ability to judge them will be self inspecting them or actually playing with them.

If someone else doesn’t make an addon like that then i’m not playing then. Item level average was the best thing that ever happened to this game. How the heck am i supposed to know what gear is good or bad for a class?

I’m sure some people will try to make one, I’m just saying this addon won’t include that feature itself.
Integration is definitely possible if we could view the players in a main city before heading to the dungeon.
The technology is definitely there, addons have come a long way.
In the case you’re NOT trolling… Gearscore started in wrath and was added to the base game in cata, that’s far from over 13 years.
That wasn’t a matching system, when it put 5 rogues in a group…

They will put the needs of their content over the needs of the game. They do no represent what is best for games merely are correct when the two motivations happen to agree. Particularly with regard to Classic, this content creator and several others are influential on the design on the game, without having adequate knowledge or experience. They have zero merit to be representative of the community and merely pander to low functioning twenty somethings on twitch.
So that is to say I agree with the sentiment of not liking this addon, but I will not empower any content creator by engaging their opinions on their platform. I will take every opportunity to neuter them after seeing their influence on Classic.

It’s crazy how fast people forget what automating social functions does.

Well, maybe at first glance, but what is it replacing? An argument for the addon will say “chat spam cluttering everything up,” but…isn’t that every chat channel that isn’t personal? Isn’t that the idea of a public channel?
When I go to a store or market, I can hear people talking all around me…and while we take it for granted, I can also imagine a world where those places are dead silent. That’s not a nice feeling…probably.
The “slipper slope” is a meme, which is too bad since it’s a valid argument. I’m ok with a LFG hud where you can get people for a group, but I’m not ok with how it will affect the game given how I’ve already seen it go down a similar road in the past.

Can one of you guys give a reasoning to their opinion in the following structure: Feature x of this addon has impact y on the game because z. Would be really much appreciated to understand your stance against it. None of you have been really specific about this and if they have it was about a feature that is not even included in the addon.
Being able to acces the LFG list everywhere at anytime allow players to find a group faster than before.
Meaning, they’ll be less patient & more demanding because they can easily check if an another group is ready no matter where they are.
In Vanilla, because the research was harder, no matter if you were a good guy or an impatient one, you were helping the newcomers, not leaving after some wipe because YOU were unsure if you could find a new group really fast.
Leaving had in impact on your reputation and it was a risk to impact YOUR gameplay and YOUR time. It’s was forcing players to behave better, for their own sake.
The community aspect of Vanilla come from things like this. It was a fragile balance. Don’t break it.

That is true. I think what has a bigger impact here is the higher cap on the server population. Back then it was about 2.5k-3k which is going to be a lot more with classic, no numbers here but it has been verified to be multiple times of that. This is going to increase the availability of groups and people in general and going to impact this fact a lot more than the addon.
Why would it not have a bad impact on your reputation with addon too? If you don’t behave properly people are still not going to want to play with you.
