Support for Covenant Restrictions

Honestly, they should have just given a whole lot of different options to chose from per covenant.

I dont like these kinds of responses but oh my god was this hilarious. 2 thumbs up.

There’s always going to be a bottom and a top for dmg meters but in the long run, nothing is that far apart.

Imo - the best way would have been to just give all abilities to each of the covenants, but have each of them changed in appearance based on the covenant you’ve joined.

This way you get the RP aesthetic benefit that is unique to your choice - but you’d be able to switch up which you use and how it impacts your gameplay is preserved regardless of your choice.

This is also a good idea. Like glyphs but without the hassle of the auction house.

Ion also said essences would not become account wide…how did that turn out?

There is no way in hell they will be able to balance all of the specs along with each and every ability these covenants provide for said spec to be within 5% range of each other, when they can’t even manage to do that with the specs themselves…and then imagine how things will be as we gradually get more and more secondary stats…along with the legendary powers…along with the possible tier set bonuses that might return. If you think they’ll manage to keep the powers within 5% of each other you are delusional.

Exactly. RP is maintained and balance becomes that much easier.

They’re still not account wide. You can just buy them w/ Echoes.
Account wide = BoA and mounts and pets.

Oh so having them already unlocked on another toon on your account didnt make them accessible on another toon? I wasn’t aware of that.

Not in the way that every other account wide item functions.

It’s like semi-account wide.

Story/RP decisions should NOT be tied into performance. It’s as simple as that. Doesn’t matter how negligible the effect is; in an MMORPG, the choices should matter based on their lore/effects/ideals alone.

This one thing is honestly like a big shadow hanging over the expansion. There’s so much to be hyped for. But then there’s this… this massive, overarching issue. It feels like a storm that’s coming. Not a destructive one, but one that just makes a whole day feel like it’s gonna waste away. Except it’s an expansion that could have meaningful choices based exclusively on the merit of those choices alone.

I don’t think you know what BoA means but ok

And all the meters you’ve seen are from beginning of the expansion gear…

I’m talking about with azerite, essence, and corruption

You say scary, I say exhilarating. Dude, I love that I just don’t know what Shadowlands will feel like. BFA was just a worse version of Legion, I already played Legion. Shadowlands though? Who knows what Shadowlands will look like? Yes, I can speculate what the day-to-day will look like - farming quests, getting keys, going into Torghast and getting your mats, doing some M+, farming some herbs and making some flasks and buying whatever else I need, then doing a raid. However, the mechanical feel even at this point we still don’t know because it is still a work in progress.

It’s mind boggling to see the system cater the most to the more spiteful/hateful players.

Genuine question; I do both PvP and PvE content, why should I have to choose which form of content my character is better at and be locked into that choice for the foreseeable future?

It’s not like getting two sets of gear with different stat priorities, because I could switch gear for the content I’m doing. Can’t do that with Covenant abilities.

If you want to be excited for a potentially extremely broken system due to a consistent inability to balance properly, that’s your prerogative. I’m going to be concerned because it will affect my gameplay.

Choose your favorite and be specialized for it.
I do M+, WPVP, and Raiding
I’m going Venthyr even if it’s not the best for WPVP and Raiding

That didn’t answer my question though. That doesn’t bother you? You enjoy the fact that you have to choose which type of content is more important to you so you can be specialized for it. What if you like them equally and want to be specialized for both?
