It only makes sense until said players get tired of doing so and quit, and the people who don’t want to progress 4 of the same class quit as well.
I believe as usual players will make their choices and move on to the next topic to rage at.
I do not see any sort of following that would tilt Blizzard to make a change
Didn’t Ion say that they don’t want the “solution” to be leveling multiple characters to cover all cases? They want people to pick one and stay within those restrictions even when it’s not fun to play that way.
This is a game. It’s not supposed to be about fun. If you’re having fun, you’re playing the game wrong. The only fun you’re supposed to be having is knowing you’ve played it in a morally superior way than others.
Apparently.
You can do both. You’ll just do one slightly better
Why should that restriction exist? You cannot justify it. You only support this because it is something all the top players are against and your inferiority complex leads you to believe that is a good thing.
Key signs that a person is losing an argument: personal attacks.
Every current patch is the worst patch in WoW history, just like every current expansion is the worst expansion in WoW history.
Go read what conduits and soul-binds are. You clearly don’t have all the information. Stop talking like you understand what is going on when you don’t.
Your entire OP is a personal attack against people who want something different from you, essentially calling them all wannabes and posers.
It’s not but I guess reading comprehension is hard for some players
(Now that’s an attack)
Now multiply that for people who like to do multiple things in the game, raid, pvp, M+, and world content.

Exactly - the more you want to play the game, the more you get punished.
Great way to treat your customers…

If you enjoy the game so much, you can enjoy it with multiple characters each well-suited to the types of content you enjoy.
Yea, I know, and they won’t make the system any better. Covenants shouldn’t affect gameplay at all.
Alt-friendly = having no choice but to level up and grind one character of each covenant when you only used to play one character for all content.

You can never be allowed to exhaust all the content and quit. That’s bad for business. Blizzard removing infinite grinding wasn’t done out of the kindness of their heart. Covenant min-maxing is a replacement for investing all your time in one character to keep up with the Joneses.

The true destructive mentality is intolerance of others with different preferences for gameplay and different definitions of fun. If you believe that despite the fact everyone is actually playing within the rules that the game is designed with, almost all of them are playing the game wrong and need to be stopped, that is the height of destructive intolerance.
You would rather nobody play the game at all than even a single person be playing it wrong, according to your own personal idiosyncratic “rules games ought to be played by”.
I thought this was a beautiful way of putting it.
Ion said they won’t let covenants be more than like a 5% difference.
Ion says a lot of things, but you need to keep in mind Blizzard’s track record for balancing — it isn’t good. I am not putting any faith in them to get this right, which is scary for something that we will be stuck with for two years if they don’t separate the abilities from the covenants now.
All the meters I’ve seen look good and balanced
Well, that’s most certainly not something I will ever believe. Consider this me biting my tongue to avoid getting a forum ban for how I truly feel about what you just said.
