Support for Covenant Restrictions

That is true, you can still restrict yourself from flying or switching factions too. What a great argument!

All people who hate flying, just use ground mounts.

You wouldn’t have to switch your covenant abilities at all. Just like you don’t have to switch your talents at all. Other people switch their talents all the time and I bet that doesn’t ruin your game.

WE DO! My guild and various communities I’m a part of do exactly this.

We all play with RP mindsets, but we don’t want the covenants restricted because we know others will be punished for the system being setup that way.

I don’t like boomie at all so when my guild asked me if I could go boomie for ilginoth because we needed more ranged I just said “no I don’t like it” that was the end of that.

People need to use the word no more often. It’s the same as the loot trading bs people argue about. Its not hard to say no.

The whole bullied into playing the meta etc is pretty bs. “no” there I solved your issue for you. Thanks I’ll be here all week to solve other problems.

It’s not just me, there are hundreds of RPers across all the communities and discord servers I play with that feel the same way.

And it should stop here. This is what our choice should be. But, as you said, they are their own worst enemy. 9.0 - 9.1 will be the devs just surprise Pkiachu facing all over the place.

This is a social game. What you do as a whole reflects on the whole game and community.

The game restricts you because it is balanced around it. Picture not being able to join groups because you don’t want to change factions because you are loyal to that one.

Nah I want all people to have to be limited by this system. This community always wants the best of everything for what content they do. Now blizzard making players have to pick and it is the end of the world. Suffer well i guess.

I doubt that, My husband was talking to people today on moonguard and many people think that the system is fine, Factions matter because it limits gameplay and that it adds value. So im going to use your line. Hundreds of Rpers love that this system limits players.

We have factions, races, and classes as restrictions. Why are you in favour of adding MORE restrictions? The ones we have are understandable and I don’t really see many complaints, if any.

You are Jimbob, an orc warlock of the Horde. This is fine.
You are Jimbob, an orc Destruction warlock of the Fae Folk Horde. This feels like we’re putting too many walls around what I can do with my character.

Edit; the game systems are starting to have too much dictation on what I can and can’t do. They are also restricting RP, regardless of what the RP crowd thinks - GL to anyone who RPs a character with flexible allegiances.

I’m an MM hunter. I get the whole meta thing, and I don’t worry about it. Sometimes, people kick me out from groups for being MM, but usually, I get welcomed in and then do as much damage as everybody else. The game is tuned so that anything can be done by anyone. What you’re addressing is a community problem, and that can be fixed by running with friends.

If you’re getting kicked out of groups for your choices, it’s a blessing in disguise. You don’t want to play with those people anyway.

Because he specifically wants other players to suffer.

Nah, I can run with guildies or create my own group.

Haven’t you heard? It’s only fun for them if they’re forced to stick to one.

Exactly. Everyone being able to fly doesn’t force anyone who doesn’t want to to do it, just like being able to change covenants wouldn’t force anyone who didn’t want to.

And yet everyone could instead play with friends, a guild, or start their own group. If there’s so many people who want this, there will be no shortage of available pugs.

And you’d also be able to play for fun and experiment with different builds, abilities, and goofy strats with your friends.

This is such a ridiculous take. Maybe it wouldn’t seem so wild if there weren’t classes that have 2 or 3 roles based on spec. I know it’s insane but if you give a player the option to run dps or healer on the fly, they might choose that class to, I dunno, run dps or healer on the fly.

That’s exactly why I picked a druid - I wanted to make sure my guild and friends would be served in any way they needed.

I play across all roles and have always enjoyed it.

Now the covenant and conduit system seems to slap my hand for wanting to do so. I don’t understand why.
