Sunreavers in 8.2

This issue is only intensified by the fact that, after all these years, the Horde plot STILL relies on an antagonizing, imperialistic Alliance that hasn’t existed since WotLK if you want to be really generous about it and Vanilla if you don’t. Even after the writing team long since stopped writing the Alliance as smirking imperialists, the Horde’s story has continued to assume that they are, which is why you get bizarre disconnects all over the place in both Garrosh’s and now Sylvanas’ decisions to start wars.

To be fair to Blizzard, with the short time frame, I can see the Horde tightly holding grudges as negative attitudes about rival powers are not always rational in the real world. The problem is that it does not work for a lot of players and does not make for a great narrative. The Alliance does not have to question themselves like the Horde does. Sure, the Alliance should have a different sort of conflict, but certainly one that makes them less “morally bright white outside of few moments of questionable things that get swept under the rug” even with idealistic, good people like Anduin in charge. Show some of Alliance “dehumanize” Blood Elves (outside of just the Silver Covenant) as savages even if they are largely the same as High Elves; maybe their moral greatness does not extend well to those who do not join them. Have them dubiously take resources the same way the Horde does, that Imperialist idea. Is the Alliance an alliance for all or mostly about supporting Stormwind?
