(Suggestion): Resolving the Naming Issue

How am I been greedy?

I only play 3 characters and they all have names. I don’t want your name for any of them.

I would have no issue losing names on characters I no longer play. The only low level characters I have are set up to be played when pre-patch hits. If I don’t use them, I have no issue losing the name and in fact I tend to delete them.

I would want a shorter name :frowning: At least some of my characters would want a 4 letter name

I don’t know what the problem with the current system is? If I get a name, I should be able to keep it.

Let people sell names for gold, and bam, problem solved.

Huh? But I do take breaks. I wasn’t subbed for at least a month until news of pre-patch started swirling around.

You’re sitting here trying to say that if names aren’t actively used DAILY they should be released.

I’m paying for my account. You don’t get to have my name if I decide to hold a name for a transfer, or stop playing a character for a patch because the class got nerfed into the ground, or whatever other reason I might have for not logging it in.

I even made a character I never intended to play to honor a friend who had died of cancer. That was for MY memory.

My reasons for rolling a name are my own. As long as I pay for my account, you don’t get to decide what I’m allowed to use when, why, and how often.

Once my account goes inactive for a while, all bets are off.

Just release every name of sub-max level toons in any account that hasn’t been active in 3 months. If they come back or activate, then they will need to rename their toons.

Sometimes you have to play around with letters to get the two to four letter names, but it’s not impossible even on crowded servers.

I recently wanted a four letter name that started with a K and ended with an A on Wyrmrest Accord. I ended up with Kiqa for my troll. Not a real name, but it suits a troll. You just have to play around to find something that you like.

Nope, never said that. Not even for lvl 1 characters.

Try again.

But in a thread about it, I am allowed an opinion.

I’d apologise that you are so offended, but I’m really not sorry. TBH I think you are been a bit ridiculous. It is a thread with people talking about their views. No one is holding a gun to your head.

I’d say a year, just to be safe.

If I got sick and could sit and play WoW for a couple months and all my names were gone, I’d be ticked.

Lmao damn someone went hostile real quick because someone requested more naming freedom in a 15+ year old game.

Scroll up and look at your responses to my responses.

You were saying that. I was talking about ACTIVE subscriptions, and you’re saying “If you’re not using the name actively, it should be released”.

Seriously, go re-read the thread.

It was sarcasm dude, I was agreeing with you.

(Commentary): All the more reason to support a Second Name/Surname. Never need to release names again. “Oh you wanted Kevin? Well, be Kevin. Kevin Stonefield, Kevin Dawnstar, Kevin Skullcrusher, whatever type of Kevin your heart desires.”

Remember it’s only sub-max level. Max level toons are safe. If I went away for 3 months or longer, I wouldn’t remember all my toons anyway.

Um…

You read the thread.

Only a fool would think “active” means “logged in every day”.

Or they could let us have last names. HAHA obviously I’ve worked around the naming issues and got other names, but it would be nice for them to add last names so we can have the first names we want.

We have server names already.

I could have Beaupeep-Draka, Beaupeep-Suramar, Beaupeep-Windrunner.

“Surnames” technically already exist.

None of this mentions whether or not the account is active

A level 5 character on an active account should keep its name. Im paying for it, I keep it. Period.

(Commentary): Doesn’t help on a crowded server though. Surnames/Second Names are the superior option. Infinite more options.
