I do a lot of gathering herbs/ore as well, and just find it more pleasant running around on the ground. It’s harder for people to bot in WM, and nice encountering players more often and helping them not die (it almost felt like vanilla for a while there). It’s a whole lot of small personal preferences, but yeah there’s probably people out there who prefer wPvP + flying. If flying is unavailable, then hundreds of thousands of people’s gameplay experience is negatively impacted; if they enable flying, the outcome is exactly the same.
It’s been over a year since launch, so I don’t mind that people who enjoy flying get to do so (people were demanding flying like 3-4 months after launch). I had a lot of fun doing crazy wPvP things which just doesn’t work now that everyone’s flying.
The fact that so many people are playing classic and prefer it over retail makes it a more than reasonable assumption. Subscription numbers have also gradually tanked following the addition of these things.
If you don’t think he’s correct, then you’re essentially saying that you believe most/all players love flying, LFG, LFR, and other similar changes? I suppose that could be true, given that millions of players have stopped playing the game for whatever reason and are no longer considered players.
OP and I are 2 samples, not what I’d call “a lot” but it’s a start. I’ll bet there’s a good half-million people who feel the same, and that’s a conservative estimate; should anyone actually try to gather data on it.
So what?
There are MORE GAMES on the market to compete with with BETTER graphics and BETTER engines TODAY than there were 15 years ago.
Your argument isnt an argument at all.
The fact that so many people are playing classic and prefer it over retail makes it a more than reasonable assumption.
uh, no. IF that were the case then it just means that SOME players prefer the slog of classic while others do not.
The complete and total removal of flight would make me stay away from any realm like that, and if it was game wide, would likely make me cancel my sub.
The number of loops I ran/flew around HFP back in BC, when I was mining ore to sell for my basic (was 60% back then!) and then epic flyer is in the thousands. I played the game “working” for that too damn hard to lose it.
You’re right, you’ve downgraded classic from ‘sucky’ to ‘crappy’. XD
Exactly, it’s not an argument, and I’m not arguing.
What was it, like 5000g? I can’t even remember. Feels to me like we’ve already lost that a long time ago. Have we had to work that hard for anything in recent expansions? I suppose grinding rep is a different kind of work, but it doesn’t feel as gratifying or enjoyable to me for whatever reason.
Funny thing about flying is, I don’t remember it being an issue until Blizzard decided to make it one in WoD. Then all of a sudden we had folks talking about how it ruined their immersion and all that.
BC and Wrath were the most popular expansions of all time and both were designed around flying.
Flying added to the exploration element of WoW, since one of WoW’s strengths is its insanely large zone sizes. There isn’t anything inherently wrong with it. About the only reason I can see them having added the pathfinder achievement was to buy the developers more time to patch up the zone. They likely aren’t finishing the zones until part 2 is enabled.
It certainly was. “No flying” was a passion project for the new team, as evidenced by how pissy they got when their customers dared to leave en masse after its announcement.
100% agree with this. I like my flight dont get me wrong. I just think it needs to be gone in warmode. The battle for nazjatar was so much fun the first month. Now its just the oppisite faction hovering over points until enough people leave. Mini battles near flight points where so much fun too. Now i just fill the bar and afk.
