Suggestion : M+ Title to 0.1% of specialisations instead of raw IO

Hey guys,

I wonder if we can get DEV attention to this, I was speaking about this with a couple people and all seemed to think it was a fairly good idea.

So instead of giving the M+ title to 0.1% of best IO, why not pick the best 0.1% IO of each specs ?

I have a feeling that it could be interesting, even maybe fight against the current META trend.

Maybe if we upvote this enough, we can get an answer from the devs ?

Devs don’t really respond on forums that way, no.

And yeah, its been suggested many times, here’s a sample:

I think it’s a good idea.

This doesn’t change the number of title spots, so do you think the people who are currently getting title now would drastically change? Or would they just get title on a different spec?

No, they would just get the title on different specs - would probably be a similar pool of players.

For sure. This definitely wouldn’t open things up for the common player. It would still be the elite few that fill the %s for every class.

I will say though, I don’t play alts.

So even the possibility of me getting the title every season (instead of only when my class is meta) would be nice.

I think it would make title pushing a lot more “gamey” if that makes sense.

Instead of just pushing the highest keys you can on your spec (possibly a fotm reroll) you are constantly checking spec title score reqs and running 4 meta + 1 off meta keys to get everyone their title that was already getting it.

I dont know if you can post links in here : mythicstats . com/period/987

But if you can’t, you can clearly see in the stats that in the top 2000 keys this week :

  • 80% of the tanks were prot paladin
  • 60% of the heals were disc

They could also make it so that the achievement is once per account, so if you earn it on one, you are removed from the list with the others.

I see it as a way to break from the META and letting some people that dont really wanna play alts and want to push have a reason to do so even when your class is not a top performer.

I think the one issue in this is even for ‘non-meta’ specs up there… the rest of the 4/5 man comp is meta.

I can see them rewarding players who push high on a non meta spec but I think the title should stay as.

Bad idea. You incentivize meta + x, and people finding a place to park alts.

It sounds great, but I think it could get pretty degen, pretty fast. What would happen is widespread carrying for title. Meta teams would drop like their dk or whatever and plug in the warrior, etc, and get him title in a day.

The fix, imo, is to make title a fixed score. I cannot realistically call mythic+ competitive anymore, and it’s the only part of the game I play. There are way too many factors that make it the farthest thing possible away from the definition of the word competitive.

A fixed score title along with the existing one sounds great.
