Suggestion for Blitz

I like it a lot so far, much more fun than doing arenas for honor/conq imo

However, one suggestion would be to remove the 350% mount travel speed when someone gets put in combat. It’s too easy for people to just run literally right through PVP on their flight speed level mounts. Even snaring someone on a 350% mount is still only knocking them down to about 175% speed. Reducing mount back down to 200% if they get put in combat would make the game easier to engage in PVP with mounted people.

Mount speed is 150% in Blitz

Also, for the sake of balance, it’s probably a good thing

Mobile specs like Boomie/Mistweaver are already gonna be all over the place. At least we could help out immobile specs by giving them faster access to objectives.

Edit:

Dear Viewer,

I admittedly misunderstood the patch notes. Blitz is an additional 150% movement speed, added on to the increased 100% movement speed you receive from an Epic Ground Mount. Blitz does not add a total of 150% speed to your run speed.

What lies beyond this point, in this thread, may amuse, horrify, or even lobotomize you. Please proceed with caution. You have been warned.

No. Mount speed is 350%. It’s 150% added to the top of the normal 200% speed.

And I enjoy it. I see where Sifu is coming from though.

Bro you should think a bit before posting. If normal mount speed is 200% and you’re much faster in Blitz, why would your brain come up with mounts being 150% there?

When I read the patch notes I thought they meant they were adding half the value of current mount speed to mount speed

Normal mount speed is 100%. In BG Blitz the 150% is added to the original 100% increase giving you 250% Mounted Speed.

Tbh mount speed was something I hated the idea of initially, but I absolutely love it now. Especially on a map like DWG, I can go defend shrine then make it to quarry for an offense and not feel like I’m wagon training across the western frontier.

It really rewards aware players.

You seem pretty confident, as well as condescending, that the normal mount speed is 200%. Feel free to link me the patch notes and I’ll edit my comments accordingly.

If mount speed is 100%, then tell me my guy, what is run speed?

Mount speed is 100% of run speed. That’s why when you hover over the tooltip of your ground mount it says 100%. When we are in BG Blitz we have 100% plus the 150% added from Blitz. Making it 250%.

And what’s that translate into when you get rooted? -100% run speed?

By this logic, 100% is walking speed. 200% is running speed. 300% is mounted speed.

Why are you throwing your own logic at me? You’re the one that said run speed is 0%. Tell me what rooted speed is if run speed is 0% my dude.

See, in my world (and also Blizzard’s btw), run speed is 100%, mount speed is 200% and blitz adds 150% to 200% making it 350%. I don’t know what world you’re living in over there where run speed is 0% but should be hilarious seeing you try to explain it.

This entire argument is semantics

Not really, he’s calculating speed based on epic mount speed where as the game itself bases it on run speed.

In my world, running speed is base. Mounted speed is 100% of base speed. BG Blitz is 250% of base speed.

Zly is right, we are arguing semantics. I can tell that you strongly feel that you need to be right, so you’re right. I hope whatever is going on in your personal life gets better, friend.

It’s not even semantics, as movement speed is a defined value. 100% movement speed, ie run speed, is 7 yards/second. Walking speed is 2.5 yards/second, putting it at 35.7% movement speed. Ground mount speed is 14 yards/second, putting it at 200% run speed. With the 10% guild buff, its 14.7 yards/second, putting it at 210%.

Great to see the obvious wrong guy calling the guy who said mount speed is 150% right. Too good lol

You 2 should start a guild together

The tool tip for an epic ground mount is “Increases ground speed by 100%”

So if you say “mount speed is 100%, epic flying is 310%, Tiger’s Lust is 70%” etc, you’re insinuating the “increase” part

Nobody was saying mounted speed is 100% (or equal to) run speed, or using Tiger’s Lust somehow slows you down.
