How well do sub rogue do in random BG/Wpvp? lvling as one right now and i wanted to know. also how gear dependent are they?.
Every class is gear dependent DPS and tank mostly. Subtlety rogue can dish out some impressive damage on a single target
but do i need lots of gear or with something like 440-450 ilvl i should be good?
Any spec rogue is good in random BGs with the right player. Sub actually does really good here at objectives, defending, ninja capping, etc.
I would say sub takes a little ui adjustment to shine to make sure you get the most out of dance. But it’s fun, but really any spec is viable in fandoms with gear and skill.
Short answer: Yes
Long answer: Sub rogue is very stat and gear dependent spec that has a hard learning curve but can seem absolutely unstoppable in the hands of someone who has mastered the spec. If you enjoy commiting a lot of your time to get the right stats and gear then you will be absolutely stoked with the finished product

so i would need to do m+ and stuff to get the big gear. or just playing casual will do it?

Sub is trash. Used to be good, now it’s not. Damage is horrible outside of it’s burst window and even with the burst window the damage is just average or worse compared to pretty much anything else. Despite that, it can still be fun to play.
People telling you that Sub is good are hard-gated at 1600 rating and/or watch Pikaboo stream and suddenly think that Sub is good again because a multi-Blizzcon champion is playing it.

I play Subtlety Rogue exclusively, no other class or spec, and that helps. You really must play your Sub almost perfectly or you will be punished.
Since coming back from a break for the new patch I can see it’s tough. I can’t “bully” my way through encounters like I did a couple of months ago. You have a chance to die very quickly, there is a lot of damage being thrown around in BG’s.

It’s really about developing a playstyle for the Sub Rogue that works for you. More importantly you have to learn to play a Rogue and be smart, understand your limitations, don’t overextend, know when to bail out.
Playing an Assassination Rogue will still be just as fun, only easier. If you really want to commit to playing a Subtlety you’ll have a good time.

Sub definitely isn’t trash if you know how to play it. Just because you can’t roll your face on the keyboard and press kidney shot and have ppl die like assassination doesn’t mean a spec is trash…

Because rolling your face on the keyboard during Shadow Dance is soooooo difficult.
