Bro, did you even read what you responded to? I literally just said you don’t have to pay double. You can subscribe and then unsubscribe.
Finally a solid argument targeted at the actual change.
I think Zuldazar was commenting on the seeming mix up between Subscriptions and Game time.
Some people don’t appear to know the difference between the reoccuring sub (no change), and the Game Time Cards/Blocks options.
I think the person was just trying to help people focus their feedback on the proper thing - the removal of the game time cards.
They removed the 30 day game time card/block and the 180 game time card/block.
You can still buy:
30 Day reoccuring Subscription*
60 Day reoccuring Subscription*
180 Day reoccuring Subscription*
WoW 30 day game time token (with gold)
60 day Game Time Card/Block
*If you don’t want your Subscription to automatically renew, wait for it to clear the payment (several days), then cancel the Sub on the account. You can do this every month if you like.
If people feel strongly about getting back the 30 day game time card they just need to be clear about it in their messaging. It also helps if folks explain why they prefer it.
I am sure Blizzard knows exactly how many people use the 30 day game time blocks and how many will be impacted.
Many people do NOT have credit cards for this “BRO”… they use cash and buy game time (cards from like gamestop/best buy). What are you not understanding about that?
So you can’t get 30 days with a token? This doesn’t combat botting, it just makes the botters pay more - and they won’t have an issue with that I think.
Credit cards or debit cards?
Credit cards, yes, but you can buy a subscription with a debit card.
For cash transactions do you mean physical cards purchased at a local brick and mortar type store?
That has me curious if the sales metrics show one of the 3 being most popular and the others collecting dust so making them might not be rational? No idea. I had not even considered that though.
But I need something new to be outraged about!
Blizzard is the WORST! Capitalism! GREED! Bobby… !
It’s really hard to have constructive discussions in this forum sometimes. I’ll admit, I read the headline and was like “why would they do this during a content lull?” but then I took a moment to understand what was actually happening.
I’m still waiting to hear why blizzard is ok with us subscribing and unsubscribing every 30 days but no longer, after many years of it being just fine, ok with us buying game time for 30 days.
how dare you!?
raises my monthly price by 3-4 bucks without the discount i got paying for 180 days. not bad for you maybe cus it doesn’t effect you one iota. for once, think about other people imo.
Really? WTF Brack and Kotick.
F this change I’m done with this then.
You and I both know the answer, but yes it would be nice to hear them come out and say it.
not changed for you, from the usa, for my country they raised it again after 6 months…it’s over for me now
Yes I understand that and you still arent understanding my point. I have many friends that dont give ANY company their credit or debit card information SPECIFICALLY for subscriptions because they are paycheck to paycheck. Now they have to pay dbl to play a game even if they only want one month.
Never mind… its a no win and its already been decided. Just more squeeze on the ones that have less to be squeezed.
In what world is hitting the botter’s bottom line not a way to combat botting? Especially over time, this can absolutely make the difference in botting being worth it monetarily. Blizzard could even shift to more frequent ban waves, meaning botters get less time per purchase, and now have to spend more to get a bot back.
Do a 6 month sub and cancel it. Problem solved. You may even get a mount out of it if there’s a promo.
Don’t have a CC? Use PayPal.

You think I’m defending Blizzard’s actions. I’m not.
I’m literally just saying you still have an option. I don’t agree with it, but the option is still there. What Blizzard has effectively done is create an extra step for you, the consumer, which I would agree is pretty dumb.
But Blizzard can’t force you to stay subscribed. They can try and force you to buy game time in larger increments, but they can’t make you pay $15 monthly if you buy the subscription.
So if you don’t agree with it, you can cheat the system by cancelling your subscription until it’s inevitably reverted. Or not. I don’t really know. Maybe there aren’t as many people that pay for 30 days of game time like we think.

So the fear is that Blizzard may accidentally take an extra month out of your account that you didn’t intend on paying for?
I’ve been playing this game for 16 years. I’ve never had an issue like that. Maybe that’s just my personal experience, but World of Warcraft has been pretty reliable in not stealing my money.
Plus, the battle.net app will tell you when your game time is up if you’ve unsubscribed. If it doesn’t, then you can always recheck to see if it actually turned off auto renew.

What part of the people don’t want to do that you guys don’t get it?
Game time offers various forms of payment depending on where you life, boleto, debit, prepaid cards, blizzard balance while the subscription forces you to use a credit card and risks you forgetting to cancel it and be automatically billed for another month.
This is a stupid change that makes zero sense other than Blizzard being desperate about subs numbers and are trying to encourage people to do it and maybe even hoping that some will forget to cancel and they get a some extra bucks out of these people, especially considering we need to wait to cancel to make sure it work.
Seriously, try to not shill out for Blizzard, I know its hard for you, but seriously, make an effort to see Blizzard can be stupid sometimes (most of the times lately) too.

I buy game time as well. But of course jumping to conclusions is kind of the signature move in GD.
