Subscription was going to lapse in about 12 hours from now, but now have 4 days left: huh?

Title, just very confused.

I checked last night and it said it was going to expire tomorrow (being tonight of making this post), opened up Battlenet a few minutes ago and now I have “4 days” left. What in the world?

I had it previously cancelled, not knowing if I was going to be able to take care of other, more IMPORTANT bills, and now that things have gone unexpectedly well with surprise funds, renewing the monthly payment now has suddenly opened a few extra days?

What? Huh?

I know that cancelling a sub still lets you use the full month you paid for because OBVIOUSLY. I just can’t comprehend where these extra days came from. Did Blizzard give EVERYONE these extra few days because of something? I didn’t see any announcement.

Nah the BNET launcher is inaccurate, for the most up to date status check your website account panel.

Typically around renewal it may grant you some minor leeway so when there’s a delay in processing subscription you won’t get the immediate shaftening during a raid but it’s best to add asap if you’d continue then.

don’t go by the launcher, it can be off, check in account management.

Here is the Account Management link: https://account.battle.net/games

It will give you the most reliable info regarding when your sub will end.

Yeah, I should have clarified. It was “1 day” on launcher, so I went INTO account management and saw the specific time it was going to expire (11:13pm MST tonight).

If you added a subscription, Vorastrix, it is likely showing the grace period that often happens while a subscription purchase is pending. Most of the time you won’t see it, but it allows users to keep playing while that processes so as not to interrupt your game time.

It may cause you to temporarily lose posting privileges, as that only applies to gameplay, but the forums update slowly so that isn’t as common.

Mine has been doing the same thing. The launcher expiration date keeps changing. At one point it said that I had 4 days left, but that it expired on the 6th of Jan, but it was already Jan 11th. I checked my account and it says not until the 21st, but now the launcher is saying it expires in 11 hours… Sooo, I’m not really sure what to do lol hoping that it will still works after 11 hours, but I don’t wanna get my hopes up.

Bnet launcher always flaky account management is usualy more accurate.

By chance, do you regularly have the battle.net app open when you put your computer to sleep? I’ve found that the app tends to ‘double count’ the time the computer is asleep against the subscription time remaining, so if you leave your computer asleep for 8 hours with the app open, it’ll deduct 16 hours from the subscription timer on the app.

(This also is the cause of the weirdness you’re seeing, where the app says you have ‘4 days left’ even though hovering your mouse over the subscription timer says it expired 4 days ago – the subscription timer is trying to show a negative number, but it can’t since the devs never expected players to have a valid subscription with negative time left on it.)

Thankfully, this is only visual and is fixed if you close and restart the app. You can also go to account management to see exactly when your account expires, down to the minute.

Ohhhhh, I always leave it open when putting my computer to sleep.lol my computer is like ancient and takes so long for anything to open up, that I tend to just leave bnet and steam open so I dont have to wait as long when I want to play. So that seems to explain a lot. I guess I’ll try closing the app and seeing how that goes. Thank you, that information was super helpful
