Subscription for Dragonflight?

TL;DR version.

Have a subscription that renews on 12/02/2022. Pre-purchased Dragonflight and was asked to set up a subscription. Billed for $49.99 and an additional $14.99 EVEN THOUGH, I already had a sub.

Next bill date still says 12/02/2022. Confused on why I needed to pay for a sub I already had. Also, wouldn’t mind it if it just bumped it to 01/02/2023. Anyone else go through this or am I just unlucky?

Upgrading to Dragonflight doesn’t require that you purchase additional game time. I’m wondering if you might have accidentally applied the expansion to the wrong account.

Double check at the link below to make sure that you upgraded the right account. And if you did purchase additional game time, it should absolutely be added to the game time you already had. But that should show at the link below too:

I just bought it the other day and the shop tried to do that to me too. Even though I have game time until late next year.

You have to tell it you will set up a Sub LATER. Then it tries to trick you into still doing it and you have to tell the shop no again. Only then can you finish the transaction. It warns you that you have no sub and tries to scare you anyway.

I just checked, I was indeed only billed the Base game + tax.

Just have the 1 account and it didn’t update when my next billing cycle would be.

When I bought it it also asked me to sub which I already have, so I think it just does that automatically as they think people are returning to the game for DF and would then need game time.

For future searchers, think of it as a “Do you need game time? Here’s your options.”, not, “You need game time! Here’s your options.” You can bypass this.

Umm, it is not set up as a question. It is very aggressive and tells you that you don’t have it and need to buy it. It literally tells you that you don’t have game time on your account. Then if you say “buy later” it tries scare tactics on you.

I also remember the older version, which was not so aggressive.

I don’t remember it prompting me a second time when I finally pre-purchased it a couple days ago.

But just adding my confirmation that you aren’t required to setup a subscription at that moment if you don’t want to.

It might be because I already had an active subscription at the time? Dunno. :thinking:

I’m not seeing a secondary charge for game time in your transaction history, Shannz. Are you seeing that charge on your bank statement? If so, is it pending or processed?

If it has already gone through, and isn’t the one from 11/2, please submit a ticket with the transaction ID so we can take a look.

Same issue here. The worst part is that I don’t see any Order ID for the $15 subscription. I contacted Support and they are asking me for the Order ID because they don’t see the transaction on their end.
