Elder Scrolls Online just announced that they are coming out with subclasses where basically it allows you to use some abilities from other classes. WoW needs to get with the times and add this
Would love to be on my warrior and have access to lust, blink etc.
this would not help the game but would make it a headache
for one ok everyone is using lust and heroism grats that skill is now nerfed then it was.
for the nerfs no more resetting it in raids/bosses.
the boost would be like 5 secs and the debuff might be a day

would just be another illusion of choice.
they’d still do blanket nerfs and we’d still end up with 1 clear meta and anyone not following it would get side eyes
i mean im not against it, but it wouldnt do much.

Finally my healer will be able to use an instant cast hot from druid, a single target okay heal from priest, and the ability to dispel a debuff from shaman. This healer is going to be broken!
ESO is very different as it already has a wide array of skill sharing, wow’s take on this concept is hero talents

ESO has a completely different class system and hero specs and basic specs already largely fulfill the subclass thing?
Like all 6 classes can be pretty much every role.

Shadowbane MMO had this… level your base spec, and then choose up to 3 more. The game died with the most toxic of communities; good riddance
i take it you must have these skills or no party invites?
It was more about your spec dominating the town next to you; thus you needed to be active and valued no matter your spec. If you can kill with it more then they can kill you, so be it
I think it was the most brutal pvp game I ever played
I thought the topic said “sunglasses” till I looked closer.
I play my subclasses at night.
But its a good idea though, I want bubble, death grip, and blink 182.

Yuuuup. The only place where choice feels real right now is spec. You can play an undertuned spec if it’s more fun or has an easier playstyle for the role that interests you. Hero talents, our current “subspec” system, missed the mark. WoD DPS Prot Warrior shows that Blizz can just add a new spec for funsies if they want, too.
I think I am now an ESO main then
TBH ESO mostly lives and dies by its worldbuilding, which is actually better than any mainline Bethesda game (and I do mean any not just “since Morrowind” I mean it also has Morrowind and Daggerfall beat). Mechanically it’s kind of frustrating, it improves a lot on TES gameplay but imo not enough.
Once the game goes freemium, we can do stupid stuff like that

That’s not a problem at all because you only need one of those per group.
If everybody were to take Shaman as a Subclass to get Lust, then they would all quickly realize that they only need one, and then people would start making different decisions.
It’s kinda like when Transmog was introduced then every Paladin in the world mogged T2, and then all Paladins looked the same, then they started mogging anything else to look different from everybody else.
The mental stack for Rogue will be so high it’ll cause a forum meltdown.
and went back to the tier 2 with the ashbringer lol
I rarely ever see T2 Paladins these days, even though Blizzard just added GigaT2 to the game.
Besides, that’s transmog, where effectiveness doesn’t matter.
A 20-Man group where all 20 people have Bloodlust is objectively inferior to a well-balanced group because you miss out on other types of utility that you could get instead. One Bloodlust is just as powerful as 20.
Nah.
WoW needs to get rid of classes completely. They’re so 2004. Much too restrictive for modern gaming. Everyone should be able to choose a talent from the whole pool upon completing a level, letting us create our own build and play the way we want. And we should be able to use any armor and any weapons at any time, switching as we please.
And they should do the same thing with races so I can be a blue dwarf with pink hair, tauren horns, draenei hoofs and those wild night elf eyebrows. And make everything available in every color so I can have matching purple horns, hooves and eyebrows!
Mmm… what else can we destroy? There’s got to be more to tear apart.
Oooo… professions! They should work the same way as talents, one big pool that I can pick any recipe/pattern out of every time I get a point. No, every time I successfully make something. And I should be able to make any recipe/pattern with any reagent. So if I want to make some plate armor but only have herbs, they should work. Or a healing potion but only have skins, they should work.
Yeah! Open it up, Blizzard. No more restrictions. Let us play how we want!

ESO isn’t married to a Trinity, that is why they can do it.
