I am not the first one to suggest it.
Did multiple arena skirmishes this week. All had a sub rogue. All of them basically one spotted their opponents. The only one who survived was a ret pally with a bubble. Dead 2 seconds after bubble was off.
This is not skill. It is not a “git gud” moment. This is what happens when blizz bases a spec on doing the most damage within 10 seconds of coming out of stealth. Plus giving them legendaries to support it.

What is your experience with Rogue? Do you currently play rogue and know the toolkit? If you’re going to say nerf, offer some suggestions on what needs tweaked. You’re saying nerf rogues, but nerf rogues how?

Shadow Blades has been disabled, Cheap Shot has now been removed, Sap is considered a magic effect and can be cleansed. Kidney Shot is considered a magic effect and can be cleansed.

With their current toolkit, 100% crit leggo is OP as hell forcing trinkets in opening cheap shot.

Well, don’t complain if you don’t even know how to play the class. If you can’t offer a suggestion to the game developers, then don’t make a nerf thread post. You can’t just nerf a class into the ground without having a counter active response.
The real solution: make cheap shot and kidney shot share a cooldown in pvp.

How about moving Er from a builder to a spender maybe make it a dot. A big thing is that eviscerate aint the thing killing most people. Its the builders Shawdowstrike, and ER with all the rogue modifiers, amplified with that well thought out 100% crt legendary. PVE trinkets on top.
Why is their damage so front loaded into the rogue builders instead of the spender?
In my opinion if you have insane damage then that needs compensation. Cloak of shadows and Evasion need teaked or nerfed/removed. Leave your cc for your survivo. Other wise tune the dmg up a bit to make it work…Shouldn’t have some of the best defensives best offensive and best cc just isn’t right.
For example Prot paladins have medium damage atm, high heals and good survivo. But I’m far from 1 shotting people lol. I widdle people down at best while I support my team mates. That’s what I mean however.
There is alot of classes that arent perfect but i can say forsure that Prot isn’t the master of all.

Actually making ER use combo points is a great idea. It would be worth simming the code to see if it would work. Building combo points can be a slow process at times, but could potentially balance the ability.

So making it so rogues cant open up on you and literally kill you in 1.5 seconds is nerfing them to the ground? I guess I shouldn’t be surprised a sub rogue is saying you cant nerf sub rogues.

Remember that subtlety is perhaps the hardest class to balance. If they do overall damage nerfs, sub would likely fall behind as in previous expansions. Outside of opener and Shadow Blades, the spec has limited damage potential.
hard pass. it works just fine in pve. there’s no need to change the ability just for pvp. nerf it’s dmg further against players and call it a day.
The point i was making, if you didn’t catch it, was that there is too much dmg coming from and just out of stealth. Too many modifiers to burst dmg.
I know they designed sub to be all about burst and based around stealth.
Imo, the ability to keep the target stunned for long enough to kill them is the issue.
I would recommend that stuns that are used within 20 seconds of coming out of stealth have a 50% duration. You have to be able to balance surv, dmg, and cc. Sub rogues do all three too well. If sub wants to do high burst, fine, then nerd the cc and surv. Same with if they want high surv, you nerf dmg and cc.
You could also nerf the dmg modifier to the covenant ability as well as make stuns no longer increase dmg done to target.
There are many things that can be done to rectify the issue. But, if I learned anything from alpha and beta, is that blizz quit listening to forums a LONG time ago lol.
Master Assassin nerfed to +50% crit down from +100%. No longer affects trinkets, only abilities.
Cheap shot no longer usable in Shadow Dance or 6 second cooldown on cheap shot.
Sub rogue balanced.
