Stutter/Hitch when moving camera

Win 11 Pro, 7800X3D, 32GB, 7900XT, game installs on WD Black m.2.

I’ve tried various things, such as video settings (all the way to low), lower resolution, polling rate with my Logitech G502x reduction, refresh rate, VRR on/off and so on. The hitching/stuttering when moving my camera with right click still persists.

I did determine this only occurs when running in Fullscreen mode. When running in Windowed mode the game runs buttery smooth.

I’m also rather confident it’s on button press and release (cursor disappears then reappears) not how fast I move the camera.

I’d obviously rather run in Fullscreen. Wondering if anyone else has run into this or has suggestions.

Double check your retail/wow.exe (not world of warcraft launcher.exe in the root wow folder) and make sure disable fullscreen optimizations is unchecked in the right click>properties>compatibility tab. Then from the start menu, type graphics and open it up. Make sure optimizations for windowed games is enabled and in the advanced graphics settings dropdown, make sure hardware accelerated GPU scheduling is enabled.

I’m on a Windows 11 25H2 and a 7900xt as well, and while there’s a little hitching here and there, it’s definitely not like your problem. Also make sure you have no other apps using hardware acceleration or overlays running, like your browser, discord, any RGB/mouse/keyboard apps, etc

Also see a post of mine from the other day about the game’s frame limiter being messed up, if you’re using it:

Oh and as for the mouse click stuff, have you tried seeing if the stuttering happens when just rotating with the keyboard? If it doesn’t happen, then it means you’ve got some kind of driver or external app issue going on.

Really appreciate the response.

Settings are in line with what you mentioned on the .exe, no overlays enabled, hardware rendering off, both iCUE and Logitech G-Hub force closed just to test. I’ve gone through with the frame limiting on and off along with various combos for foreground and background, forcing resolution through Adrenaline, same net result. Drivers reinstalled for science and no avail.

I may try the Classic client and test it out to see it’s localized to this version, but my hunch is that it’s the something with the current patch and/or Windows. Mostly basing this off of the main trail with performance-related issues.

For the moment, I’ll keep running this in Windowed mode, which is still flawless with zero dip.

If I test the Classic client, I’ll circle back with results.

Are you sure that disabling hardware acceleration for battlenet, firefox, steam and all that will give me better performance and less stutters? Won’t those apps run worse and use more CPU? I almost always watch streams or YT on my 2nd monitor.
