Stuck trying to raise mining level (smelting)

I’m at 122/150 smelting and the only ore I’m allowed to smelt is silver but it’s green and doesn’t raise my level (score) when smelting ore to bars.
How am i supposed to get to the next level (125) when i can’t smelt ore to bars and get credit for smelting to raise score??

Mine ore. A lot of ore continues to give skill points even when smelting it doesn’t.

You can also keep smelting. Until the recipe is gray, you have a chance to earn a skill point per smelt. Green is just the lowest chance.

Skill ups from smelting are just a bonus - not the primary way of skilling up mining. You can’t level mining entirely by smelting.
